Theme restaurant ideas

Since I started posting, I post more about food than anything else regarding Disney World ( Just check my sig!) only a bit obsessed with Disney dining. The restaurants are so much a part of the atmosphere and I always revisit my favorites and like to go to some I have never tried each time.

What would you like to see created?

In Studios, we have the the 1930's - 1960's covered with a kitchen, a drive-in, and an old Hollywood legend. (Prime Time, Sci-Fi, and Derby.)

Maybe some more revived legends? Ciro's, Copacabana --- in their heyday.

Perhaps something loungy like when the Rat Pack and Elvis used to play. I have an idea but I can't put my finger on it yet.

I'd love to see Spain, Thailand, Brazil, Greece, Portugal,etc.---more countries hopefully someday. Ah,....rodizio.

We have the Rose & Crown as far an England but I agree with my Disney Honey that Ireland or Scotland should have restaurants too. They are represented in the shops but I think that's all. Well, now we do have Ragland Road and Cooke's.

There was a great and very busy thread about a diner concept so maybe it would be better to leave this out for now.

As for MK - I'm thinking still...too many ideas of what they could put there. Honestly, I could spend the whole day walking around the queue and being around the Haunted Mansion decor. A ghostly mansion restaurant could be fun...might frighten some of the smaller children though. Probably more fun for adults and it would be difficult for Disney characterize it. It would have to be tongue-in-check spooky.

AK - I too am feeling the loss of the Adventurer's Club. - Not sure they would move it elsewhere. But something along the lines of an old-fashioned English gentleman's club, hunting lodge, European library/study type of concept would be great. Perhaps even in Adventureland.

Any ideas of things you would like to see?

I would love to see a huge restaurant themed on extinct attractions. You could have different rooms with different themes. One for Mr. Toad, Horizons, etc. You could use a lot of the old props that I am sure they have laying around. I would even theme the menu somewhat on extinct restaurants. I would love to have a Terriyaki Burger from the Adventureland Veranda again. It may sound like a silly idea but it is something that I would enjoy.

I think it's a great idea and honestly, I haven't seen such an idea before. There would be so much they could do and I think people might like it. I miss the Veranda too.

But, most important to myself,er, and my stomach----restaurants.

I speak for everyone who has brought up the idea of making a House of Mouse dining experience. Based on the Show of the same name this dining experince would be much like the Sci-fi diner with disney cartoons constantly playing and depending on your time your there you will also be able to catch a special show with Mickey & Co.

This thread was from over a year ago but it got quiet quick and I would love to see some more ideas.

Lately, the threads have been chock full of ideas for attractions, what people would like added to the parks, etc...so this might be a good time to revive this thread.

How about themed restaurants.

To me,:ROFLOL: food is pretty imporant.

A majority of my posts are about Disney dining...I do love it though.

A Ratatouille restaurant in DHS (Pixar Place) is a no-brainer to me!?! I know we have Remy over in Les Chefs des France at the moment but he's leaving early September (why the heck... I do not know)!

They could even have a little gift shop off the restaurant (which Disney loves to do anyway) and they could sell Ratatouille and Remy themed kitchen items, aprons, cook books, etc. I liked the style of artwork they used for the F&W festival in 2007. If they could use that style of artwork for the restaurant and the souvenirs I think it would work very well and look good!

Ironically, I was just thinking about this when I was at MK. I would like to see a "futuristic" sit down restaraunt at Tomorrowland. It would be neat if Disney could push the limits of service, maybe a new way to order food or have meals delivered to the table?

I would love to see a new TS dining experience based on the new modern ideas of Molecular Gastronomy in the old Odyssey center restaurant space.
I think being in FW that it would fit in well with the ideals of the future and trying new experiences.

~edit~ Oh I forgot to mention that I would also like to see either a TS or even CS restaurant added to or near the Tree of Life in DAK with a multi cultural menu.

Oh boy, a Ratatouille themed restaurant in DHS would definitly be super awesome!

It would be the most popular in the park hands-down

How about replacing the old VM at DTD with a classical concert hall, showing Fantasia (or other Disney classics) performed to live music each night. The floor seats could be for non-diners at a lower price point, while the additional tiers of the hall could have tables for a higher-end dining experience. I think it would be an easy way for the mouse to make $100 per person for dining and at least a good $45 per person for non-dining seats. Just think, being able to see Disney classics accompanied by a live orchestra :)

I would love to see the Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars, complete with the band and other audio-animatronic characters. They could even serve blue milk. It would fit in perfectly right near Star Tours

I would love that! I think a "Be Our Guest"-styled restaurant from Beauty & the Beast would be awesome too. I bet the Imagineers could come up with something really awesome from that theme.

in Epcot innoventions area(future world)
have a restauraunt of the future where you are seated by a droid (cast member in costume), are given a touchscreen menu that connects to the kitchen . When your order is ready a panel in the table opens and your food raises up and then closes. Then when you are finished you push a button on the table and the opening where your food came out reopens to take the dirty dishes then the touchsreen menu asks if you would like dessert. If not a slot in the table opens to accepts your credit /debit card or cash a receipt then prints out and then the droid escorts you to the door/giftshop while thanking you for your visit
