The Spirited Sixth Sense ...

Iger probably has Frozen 4 slated for release in 2019 in his head. He thinks movies are like fast food chains that can be "franchised" as much as you want. Then again, he's not the only one in Hollywood to think like that.

As long as it is a proper big budget theatrical release, I'm fine with a Frozen sequel.

I thought back in 2010 or 2011 TWDC said they were getting out of the princess and fairytale business. With the success of tangled and the 1 billion gross of Frozen I think we will see more fairytales from Disney in the future. I would say they are back in the fairytale business. I'm ok with a frozen two if they get the same writers and composers back for the sequel.

So we now can't talk about any other social media site on here?!? A little harsh as both twitter and Facebook dominate the web these days and can be relevant to many Disney discussions in general... #lame

If they really want to hit one out of the park with Frozen2, they should immediately run to Sir Elton John with a boat load of money to compose a worthy successor to 'Let It Go'. Look at how many of the songs are tune worthy from Lion King vs. how many songs are stuck in your head from Frozen?!

I didn't say that you can't talk about other social media sites. I just do not see the point in commenting on individuals twitter posts on a different platform. The argument is often thrown around that the Twitter users should come here if they want to engage with our users, so the same should be true in reverse.

Hey guys, I don't really see the point of bringing Twitter in here. There are enough complaints around the forums when people take to Twitter to engage in discussion about what goes on in these forums. Now it seems the reverse is occurring. If you want to get involved with Twitter users, best bet is to do it on Twitter, not here. Thanks.
Well said, Steve. The constant Twitter bashing is definitely unnecessary. Seeking out these tweets to post on a message board in order to have a few laughs really doesn't make you any better than the people you're making fun of...

I think your memory is twisting things :)

They modified their new fantasyland plans because it was too focused on girls.. but that doesn't mean they were leaving that genre.

i don't believe that was the intention. personally, as someone who doesn't have the time or inclination to follow these people on twitter, i found it interesting to get a snapshot of what a disney socialer's tweets are like. i believe spirit's intention was to unveil just how deep an influence a brand addiction and an incredibly effective social media strategy like disney's can have on people's day-to-day thoughts and interactions. but, it seems like most missed the point. can't say i'm surprised.

anywhoooo, something funny happened last month. i went on vacation outside the country to a place with no pixie dust. somehow, i came back relaxed and happy. huh...how 'bout that.

I can understand (as much as it pains me to say, considering I have some friends I find perfectly "stable" that can be found within the group of tweets as well) if he wanted to post it once or twice. But a daily thing? No. I don't see the need for a daily snapshot of tweets from people that happen to be fans of Disney. It's basically posted for everyone to LOL at. No one's putting together some case study on them. There's no point in bringing them up day after day on a message board. That's pretty much an unhealthy obsession...

No I'm pretty sure I am right, they said they were getting out of the fairy tale business in the fall of 2010. Look it up and you will see they were talking about animated movies not theme parks. Since frozen has come out and done so well I can only assume they are back in the fairy tale business.

Well it's your claim.. not mine :) What I know is films like Frozen and Maleficent have been in the pipeline for YEARS.. so to think they were getting away from princesses while those three films were being worked on... seems.. contradictive.
