The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

A few people here have been in touch and questioned my point in bringing up Peter Lauria's ''fanfic'' creation that said FOX was going to buy Viacom.

The point was simply to illustrate that multiple folks here, most notably myself but certainly not only by a long shot, break news and SOURCE it thru legit reporting. And when folks attack us, they are not being skeptical but largely choosing to be ignorant.

Think about how long it took Disney to announce the BLT was happening ... think how long it took from when I mentioned Potter was taking over Amity to UNI announcing DA and the HE. ... News is broken here regularly by multiple people, people who understand how to tell if something is real or not.

And for all the folks who say they'll believe it when legit media reports it, well, Lauria is a well-respected business reporter. And he made up a huge story ... one that he was FORCED to walk back. He isn't the exception in today's media landscape. Real reporters (sure, a minority, but that isn't the point) often make things up or place stories for all sorts of agendas.

And even when they don't have them, they often come up short (like that AP story) because the reporter simply isn't up on the business and, sadly, often doesn't view the subject as seriously as they should.

The point being that this site is a great place to find out what's really going on ...

Repeating Spirited News because the proper thread has been taken over by summer-like behavior (see, it isn't simply here), but a flagship Apple Store has been CONFIRMED to be a new tenant at TSFKaDD.

And, no, this has nothing to do with the insane (summertime, summertime ... ) thread that suggests Apple wants to dine on Mouse.
Mmm... Who is this really for?
I don't see tourist flocking to an Apple store on vacation

I'd say there's a significant difference between actually using these characters in a narrative/media setting again that's getting out to nationwide audiences versus the usual exploitation of lost park nostalgia in merchandise.

Is it fanboy pandering? Yeah, but at least there's some actual effort put into it instead of recycling the same generic Dreamfinder and Figment clipart created by the pin department.

I agree, but it doesn't matter.

I don't believe I should reward a company for destroying one of the TRUE EPCOT attractions and letting it largely sit and decay for 15 years since by buying their damn comic.

I am sure the folks creating it care, but the giant rodent apparatus doesn't.

I took my wife by there to see what she thought and she said "how old is that place? You want to stay there?" Lol They sure did a great job, it looks amazing but wonder how many others have said the same thing.

They did a great job, no doubt. I just don't want to stay at a place that reminds me of all those HoJos and Holiday Inns that I was stuffed into with three other people and a pair of beagles! ... I have moved on and I'd rather stay at one of the other resorts, especially Portofino Bay and Royal Pacific. They are high end resorts and more my current style.

I also wonder, as I mentioned to a friend who is thinking of booking it for a September visit, if it is as loud inside those rooms as it always was at those old motor lodges that sat on top of parking lots like CB does.

I'm not against an Apple Store per se, and I'm sure it'll be a hit, but I'll be curious to see how and where it'll be integrated into Disney Springs. All the renderings suggest Disney's trying to dial back the era of Downtown Disney to conjure a more traditional, historic Floridian atmosphere, while Apple stores tend to feature some of the most cutting edge and contemporary design in the retail industry. To me that doesn't seem like a perfect fit, and I'll be curious to see to what extent Apple will be willing to accommodate the theme of Disney Springs.

Got to stay at the Hard Rock last month and it was nicer and cheaper than any of the Deluxe Disney's I have stayed at. Nice room, good food, drinks and great service. Everytime I was at the pool and attendant would stop by every so often and ask me if I needed anything. Of course , I love rock music and it was cool just wandering the hotel looking at all the stuff. And the Express Pass was great. Hit both parks the last 2 hours they were open and hit 8 rides and I wasn't even trying hard. Fun resort and a nice beautiful path and short walk to the parks.

Oh how I remember the days of the "DTD is a ghost town" meme.

Save Pleasure Island blog has amazing pictures today. The project just keeps escalating. Really amazing and an attraction all by itself.

On a side note, they say HoB will be the only true club (as they define it) in Disney Springs. I think this is possible and good news. Orlando will be the new place for partiers. See the new Orlando Magic venue concept art.

JT ... your schtick on Pleasure Island is deader than Card Walker. Bury it, dude. Move on.

I know you think you're bothering folks here (maybe even me), but many of us (like me) weren't huge fans of PI to begin with. We just didn't like seeing it butchered for absolutely nothing. You get a bulge from Disney redeveloping a mall/lifestyle center. Great for you. Just stay away from the kids.

If you think that having a resort that is 43 square miles (is that Jason Grandt on Twitter or someone else? those crazy kids always confuse me) without adult venues, then you aren't thinking like someone with a good grasp on reality. All those conventioneers that Disney covets don't book meals with foamheads for entertainment.

Can I like this twice? I was a big PI fan. Yes, during the early years PI was simply incredible for a small town hick like me.
