I have no idea beyond the fact Apple is hugely popular. It will likely draw locals more than tourists, although who knows? Disney is so tech oriented that maybe their goal is for everyone to buy the new iPhone14s while on their MAGICal vacations complete with a free with purchase Disney-IP cover.

I never feel comfortable in Apple Stores. I imagine I'd feel the same way in a hip SoBe club where you need to buy a $700 bottle to get in the door. Just not my scene.

They just remodeled my Tire Kingdom to a very white, sterile, hip feel.

Its an auto repair place. And it feels like an apple store.

Not surprising. And Meredith is a big Potter fan, so I wonder if she lobbied for the gig. ... It looks like the last night of June will find me sitting in front of the TV for this, another hour of 24 (and who didn't see a much larger conspiracy coming there?), and the season 2 premiere of Inside the Dome. ... So, three of the four networks have things that will entertain me. Not ABC.
24 this season has been great. That is all.

Hell, I remember being a kid and the owner (then?) of the company Chuck Curcio (could be a different spelling) was all over the teevee in SoFla. I haven't been in one since I last owned a Mustang, I think, but they were not sterile and hip!

If I thought in any way that the Figment comic book was going to lead to a proper redo of the imagination pavilion, I'd be out buying 1000 copies of each issue. I just don't see it.
This just feels, to me (and remember, these are all opinions) too close to the same vain as the Horizons tshirts and other retro merch. It may not be, but that's my gut reaction and it forms my opinion.
Plus, and I know this puts me WAY out there on the norm, and I'm speaking as a person who LOVES original EPCOT here, but I wouldn't care if they did sit on Figment/Dreamfinder forever. If they put in a real, honest to goodness, excellent new Imagination pavilion that didn't include Figment, as long as it kept to the heart of what the original EPCOT attraction was trying to do, I'd be ok with it. I'd personally rather see them take a step in a new direction than bringing back the old ride. I'd rather them leave Dreamfinder be than bring him back for something that changes the memory of him for the worse.
Again, it's just my opinions here, and I know they don't fall in line with everyone else.

Why yes it is pandering (so are 4 x-Men monthlies), but it is also a business proposition. Building the IP of Figment and DreamFinder can lead to a strong mythology and could extend the life of the original imagination for decades and isn't really the same as mourning Horizons.

If you love Figment, buy the comic, invest in the IP otherwise it will die completely.

Love the kitties. Too bad they aren't blue and eight-feet tall.

No, haven't paid any attention to Wimbledon thus far. I have some friends over there, but I just don't have the interest.

I did watch the second half of the Germany-USA World Cup game (bored me to tears as all soccer does!) with my second-favorite German on the phone. To be honest, 'Angie. M.' wasn't much more excited than I was, but I think she spent the night drinking beer and eating pretzels und wurst (more exciting than my night thus far).
If you had jaeger schnitzel mit spargleweiss und eine krombacher, you would really have something.

Mmm... Who is this really for?
I don't see tourist flocking to an Apple store on vacation

Maybe not American ones. But the last time I was at Premium Outlet--still struggled to find a space an hour before closing (Universal and WDW both wish they could hold crowds like that) I felt like the only American walking around. That's the market TDO thinks Disney Springs can attract.

Fanbois, yes, but most Orlando locals who can afford Apple products live a lot closer to Millenia (and aren't coming to Disney no matter, unless it's Food & Wine). This is all about the South Americans, and to a lesser extent various other international guests.

One of my best friends manages a tourist-area TJ Maxx. In busy season he can't keep luggage in stock. The discount on clothing/electronics makes up for the cost of a couple extra suitcases. Not to mention all the sketchy electronics shops that line 535 and I-Drive; there's a reason each one has a Brazilian flag in the window.
