The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

I honestly was disappointed. It seemed like every time I was being thrown into a screen I could see the scaffolding and the screens were always blurry. I had no complaints but did find it funny that you have some pretty awful sight lines in Hogwarts yet I haven't read/hear complaints about them. If disney built potter land and did that the world would end or maybe the internet would blow up.

I can't fathom anyone not appreciating FJ, even just for the tech. It's truly an amazing ride. Also, not sure how you saw the scaffolding unless you were leaning out of your bench.

I just saw other people talking about the article on twitter and then I found it. I've never heard of the website before and I'm not going to believe it until another insider confirms it

I figured you were just passing it along. No harm, no foul.

I would be a very happy person if Star Wars was Green Lit. But until I have a source telling me "Its Happening. You can go with it 100%," I will continue to wave the BS flag.

Def not leaning forward and was on the far right. It was really cool but just didn't enjoy being flipped screen to screen and the screen being on before being placed in it. Could be it was just out of sync but I didn't ride it again due to my motion sickness.

How long ago were you on it? The projections have been upgraded twice since launch and they've even installed air puffers on the seats to help with motion sickness.

@WDW1974Overall, uni kept making feel like I was on the left coast at DLR. Not sure why it did but I kept having that feeling.

I love having the freedom to walk between parks. The park-to-park transportation is something that could be greatly improved at WDW.

It'll be curious to see what Universal does if/when it gets a third park --- what will transportation be like to it?

To put it in perspective, in hundreds and hundreds of MK visits from 1974 to present day, I have never waited longer than 15-20 minutes to ride PoTC. EVER. Even during holiday and peak seasons. (except possibly if there was a breakdown)

When I was there in April, after the Spring Break crush, it was routinely listed at 30-40 minutes and had lines spewing out of Caribbean Plaza and into the walkways. Now, do you think that is a coincidence or do you think that is a direct result of adding FP+ to it?

OK. Couple of things. I was 10 in 1985 and that was 29 years ago, so my memory is probably not reliable here. It was the week of the 4th of July. My memory, flawed as it may be, is that we waited A LOT longer than 15-20 minutes and the end of the line was outside of the covered queue area. I admit I could be wrong, but that is how I remember it.

Because it is one of the most iconic scenes of the original trilogy, you know, the movies that had to exist before these new ones could be made.. if you're building star wars attractions you better include all you can.

If they are going with the speederbike eticket, I hope a killer speederbike sequence occurs in Episode 7.

No, I don't. ... That is why I constantly mention off-site options, Priceline and even regular price at UNI resorts.

I know and realize that I am special!:D;)

Well let's talk pass holder rates which are pretty damn good for UNI resorts and don't require a minimum stay certain nights of the week.

I never understood the early Star Wars rumors of building a speederbike e-ticket based on Return of the Jedi. Why would they build a massive attraction on a movie released over 30 years ago? I fully expect a Star Wars e-ticket based on the new trilogy to open at DHS in 2019(to coincide with the release of Episode IX).

Seriously, really??? You know Disney was able to build many attraction that weren't based on "movies" let alone movies made within a few years of said attractions.

I'll let you in on a secret, that little ride called Splash Mountain was based on a 40 year old movie at the time it opened in DL and it did just fine.

If they actually decide to build a quality attraction it will do just fine whether it's based on an old IP, a new IP or no IP at all...

Because speeder bike scenes in Jedi weren't good enough? DUDE, Jedi was part of the reason we are talking about any attractions being added.. to write off the 3 original, and still most loved star wars movies, would be a mistake.

Universal is much tougher about leaks than Disney when it comes to front-line employees as well and their use of social media. I respect that a lot. Much better than having some unbalanced **cough**Jason Surrell**cough** rep of the company getting into crazy Twit wars.

BTW, I have been traveling around the hemisphere with a copy of the Loews Hotels magazine for winter/spring and there is a PR piece on Thierry Coup in it. Did you see it?
No I didn't see it. Should I bother or would I be disgusted?

I keep hearing about the uni thrid gate on here but is there a time frame set? and where would it go? I think a third resort would SERIOUSLY push the tank that is universial into a real war with disneys lesser parks in terms of attendance.

A third gate would be amazing but wow, they need some serious space with the next hotel and water park on the way.

I cannot speak as a marathoner, but rather as the wife of one. My DH runs 3-4x week in training. And invests approx 5 - 10 hours per week in training. In the final weeks before running a marathon, he is typically running a "short" 5-7 miler, a "medium" 10-12 miler, and a "long" 20 miler.

For someone to not train at all, to "be creative" with their corral placement times, to impede the traffic of true runners, to not maintain the ahemmmm "required" 16 min per mile pace mandated by runDisney, to quit the race (and let's be clear, I'm not talking about quitting due to injury), and to receive the same "reward" of a medal - well that's kind of slap in the face to those who do put in the work.

If someone wants a freaking Disney marathon medal without busting their a$$ to train, then buy one off of eBay.
Ok. Fair enough. I'm not at all familiar with the world of running marathons. I had no idea the medals meant so much to the runners. You learn something new every day. Do all the marathons and races out there offer medals to people if they finish?

If it were me I probably wouldn't care either way. I would know that I completed the race and earned the medal and it would have personal meaning to me. I wouldn't really care what anyone else did and I wouldn't let their actions impact me. On the flip side if I got a medal for a marathon I didn't complete I would probably just give it to the first kid I passed on the street. What's the point of keeping something if it has no meaning to me. Again, just my personal feelings and I'm not running the marathons.

It depends on the race, but to answer on a general level: no, not every race out there offers medals to everyone who finishes. However, for me personally... I would never plan to run a race if I wasn't ready to give my all. In fact, I am still thinking about signing up for one of the Disney races, and if I do, I will do what it takes (barring injury or pregnancy between now and then) to be prepared to finish the thing.

On some level, it does make the medals seem less significant if everyone who participates gets one, finish or not, but I'm not worried about whether or not the person next to me gets one. I'll know that I earned mine by meeting my own goals, and that's the important thing, especially in the world of running, where so much emphasis is put on meeting personal goals. So, yeah, if I do get to do this, I'll take my medal and smile.

ETA: from what I'm reading on the Run Disney website, there are other awards given for the top finishers. So everyone gets a medal, and then the top finishers get some kind of "award" (doesn't say what the award is, at least for the event I'm looking at right now).

Actually, I pointed that out when I reviewed the land a few years ago. But when the Soarin' building is looming over Canada, it's hard to complain about Potter.

Because the original trilogy is iconic and most people don't care about a movie's age if the ride is good.
