To put it in perspective, in hundreds and hundreds of MK visits from 1974 to present day, I have never waited longer than 15-20 minutes to ride PoTC. EVER. Even during holiday and peak seasons. (except possibly if there was a breakdown)

When I was there in April, after the Spring Break crush, it was routinely listed at 30-40 minutes and had lines spewing out of Caribbean Plaza and into the walkways. Now, do you think that is a coincidence or do you think that is a direct result of adding FP+ to it?

My experience with these long lines at the entrance are just that -- at the entrance. From there on in it moves quickly.

I don't see how it changed much. And I think its ending was very lame (and I was not a regular viewer of the series).

If you are saying that movies and theaters are going to die because folks want to stream content on their smartphones, then I'm just going to say that like most things we disagree. The movie-going experience can't be replicated on tiny screens or even bigger ones in the home. ... Just like TV didn't kill the industry or videos didn't kill radio, people want to see Star Wars and the Avengers and the next Bond flick in a large, dark auditorium with strangers and a $13 Coke and popcorn combo (something I proudly will say I have NEVER bought) with them.

Films can be huge money makers or huge money losers or in between. That hasn't changed. It won't either.

I don't know as there seems to be a quality issue. Seems true originality is increasingly rare. You see it across all popular media. Also competition from gamers which is also impacting sports. These are structural issues with long term implications.

More offerings will be tailored to specific audiences and sold directly through the internet. Not sure how it all plays out but radical changes are inevitable soon. I say 4 or 5 years for most to realize it. Ultimately it will allow more to be involved but they will make radically less. It has already happened with the music industry.

I never understood the early Star Wars rumors of building a speederbike e-ticket based on Return of the Jedi. Why would they build a massive attraction on a movie released over 30 years ago? I fully expect a Star Wars e-ticket based on the new trilogy to open at DHS in 2019(to coincide with the release of Episode IX).

Now that MK has New Fantasyland and Animal Kingdom will be getting Avatar, I would expect Iger to announce major additions to DHS and Epcot before March 2015. Looking back, this decade will be a great one for Disney attractions being added to Orlando.

Between disney opening a fifth gate and universal opening a third, I'd bet on universal. Their current rate of building would certainly lead one to think they could start tomorrow and be open in two years.

Hell will freeze over before disney installs a Frozen overlay, let alone a fifth gate, with how long it takes them to do anything.

Except DVC. They get those built in no time flat.

I agree but a big issue with universal is where? what land?

They just opened a major new ride based on a movie released 77 years ago.

Either TDO is just going to be saving money closing these two shows or something is going to be starting construction pretty soon. I really shouldn't get my hopes up but it's getting a little tough not to.

I'm pretty sure that if the budget it been approved and an expansion ready to be Greenlet, the usual suspects would have heard by now.

Assuming there is eventually anything to the rumors, closing two shows in the same corner of a park already desperately short on attractions would leave a major hole in Hollywood Studios for the duration of the construction. Sure, things will have to close eventually if Star Wars is to ever go in that area, but its really going to hurt the attraction count.

Perhaps this is why they kept VotLM and BatB right where they are. My guess is, if true, they will add more Fantasmic shows and possibly LMA.

Don't worry. I am always light years ahead of the crowd.

According to this article, Indiana Jones is closing at the end of the year as well http://popwrapped.com/2014/06/14/br...acular-confirmed-to-close-at-the-end-of-2014/
Thanks for the article, I don't believe they are closing Indy, until they have an announcement for something new. I know idol has been low attended, and I think Indy has cut back on the number of shows (I think that is true), but with the lack of things to do in DHS, they can't keep taking things away without adding new things. Right?

@WDW1974 I gave uni the old college try and enjoyed it. Spidey was my fav and sadly potter was my least. Damn thing made me extremely motion sick. Overall, uni kept making feel like I was on the left coast at DLR. Not sure why it did but I kept having that feeling. As I was by myself I literally rode every ride by noon, single rider worked extremely well.

Stopped by dtd to drink at the lava lounge and watch the World Cup and noticed that all the stores had less merchandise than this time last year. Also, the merchandise left was still the same from then too. Only good thing about dtd was the car show and the nice guy in the Aston whom I spoke.

Because it is one of the most iconic scenes of the original trilogy, you know, the movies that had to exist before these new ones could be made.. if you're building star wars attractions you better include all you can.

Glad you enjoyed yourself. Potter was good for me but my wife didn't handle the motion well. I would love some improvement as time goes on to try to fix the screens to reduce the sickness even I felt. It is a pretty intense ride for sure. Not only was that ride good for me but the whole are is painstakingly well done.

I honestly was disappointed. It seemed like every time I was being thrown into a screen I could see the scaffolding and the screens were always blurry. I had no complaints about potter land but did find it funny that you have some pretty awful sight lines yet I haven't read/hear complaints about them. If disney built potter land and did that the world would end or maybe the internet would blow up.
