Kudos to Disney for the lovely 'Ode to Attractions That We Destroyed For Crap'' Collection. Fanbois, you can absolutely buy me the Horizons or Imagination shirts (Large, please!)
You don't want the Imagination shirt, it is insultingly awful.

I did however buy all 3 Horizons shirts.

Hey Spirit, you, -em and I should have cheese board and a bottle at the Thirsty Fish next time you are in the area. I'm buying.
Have a wonderful EuroMagical Christmas time in the land of real
culture.

Yes, Disney hates Potter and their thick-headed execs think its a flash in the pan! Totally explains why they run Potter films on ABC Family like an addict mainlining heroin.

Either they got a really good deal on the rights to air them or they like advertising for Uni? I'm always surprised when there's a Potter airing on ABC Family. Speaking of ABC Family, any chance they'll take over original 90210 and Veronica Mars from the soon to be shuttered (everywhere this time) Soapnet?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
And I say with 100% honesty that whole foods is more like Walmart when compared to wegmans. They are in Boston and DC now as well and they get lines when they do a grand opening. These stores are classy, well classier than a grocery store needs to be, and I don't shop anywhere else because of it.

As far as traveling I do my fair share for work, mostly us and Canada, hopefully more international soon but my line of work usually only involves other countries for huge events like the olympics. Fingers crossed for free trips to Rio. I'll be sure to carry a banner everywhere and be obnoxious.
The first time we visited, I was blown away by the bathroom facilities. I kid you not.

Fresh flowers.

Spotless.

Change table with FREE diapers. 3 or 4 sets in each size 1 - 5, plus girls' and boys' Pull-Ups, wipes, and diaper cream. I don't even have babies!

Also, classy touch - free womens' Depends.

Can't remember if they offered complimentary sanitary products.

If a company cares this much about their customer's washroom needs, you can just imagine how much they care about the "big things".

@bhg469 - We usually hit the one on Transit Rd. - just down from our hotel, near the Delta Sonic (hubby loves getting Super Kissed), and right next door to Target (which I insist on pronouncing Tar-szjay).

Never had eggnog? I've been drinking half a cup of eggnog every night for the past three weeks. As princess, @WDW1974 I command you to have at least one taste of Target-brand eggnog before the holiday season ends.

Enjoy your vacation! I'm sure it will be amazing, and I'm praying someone treats you to dinner, or drinks, or, if Santa is really happy, both!

I'm (hopefully) heading east to the Empire State this winter. Right now, I'm complaining about the freezing fifty-five degree weather here in Los Angeles, and I'm about to go to New York for Christmas, with California winter clothes. Pray for me. Hopefully I'll get to see my buddy, @Cosmic Commando!
Funny, we just had a fifty degree heat wave here today! Have you ever seen your breath before?

Yeah, I don't mean to brag, but I think my Alberta Dr. Wegmans is the nicest around. :D

I had heard soooo much about Whole Foods and Trader Joe's and how amazing they were... I was remarkably disappointed when I went to California for the first time and saw Whole Foods in person. Not any better than the five or so Wegmans stores in a 20 minute drive from my house. I don't feel bad for the Wegmans tangent on this WDW forum, because I think Wegmans carries that classic "Disney" service feeling over to the grocery world. There are so many little things they do right, and it all feeds into the overall brand. I feel weird recommending a tourist stop to a supermarket, but if any supermarket is worth checking out, I'd say it's Wegmans.

I'm an East Coast transplant to the OC/LA area. (Southeast coast, but we still know what icy windshields and flurries are in Georgia.) My roommate declared that it was "freezing" at 61 last night, and ran back inside with her arms wrapped around herself. You Californians are an interesting lot.

It's OK. I know I have others here who will be sending me cards (and you really don't have to, but I appreciate that you are and am sorry I didn't say so last night!)

And I have to be honest, @ParentsOf4 would be the guy I'd want to work with ... you'd be the guy I hired to handle IT problems and be straight about them. Happy?

I do like that quote. And it absolutely is on full display in the fan community (and various threads here).

It still astounds me that folks accuse me of hating WDW or Disney.

Ever since a president went on national TV and said "Either youre with us or your against us," the idea of criticism has gone right out the window. For this generation of fanboiz, they've been raised with the silly wrestling-inspired notion that somehow to question something is to hate it.

Apparently blind allegiance goosestepping along the path is the only path for some.

Never been to one. And never been to Rochester or Buffalo either. I'll take Paris, Tokyo or Lake Como!

That said, I think Publix is quality and a pretty consistent place to shop for groceries. I want to shop Whole Foods, but I don't want to pay their prices. Those are basically the options here unless you buy groceries at Target (I do sometimes) or Walmart (never!) ... As a child, we had so many chains here ... everything from A&P to Grand Union to Pantry Pride to Winn-Dixie (only the last one still exists here and with about 85% smaller market share than say 25 years ago).

I miss Bristol Farms from my days living in SoCal. Nothing anywhere beat them.

Wegmans is a religious experience. Its also packed as bad as WDW if you go there on Christmas Eve too.

I agree with your roommate! I don't understand how you're not cold. The air was so crisp today. And the temperature is going to drop into the forties tonight! Aahh!

I will take Fresh Market over a Whole Foods any day. My area is loaded with those two, Food Lion, Farm Fresh, Harris Teeter, and Winn Dixie here and there. We were ground zero for Food Lion trying out Bloom as the upper end, Food LIon for middle, and Bottom Dollar for low income areas. That whole plan tanked pretty bad.

Spirited Wednesday Musings:

I gotta admit there's nothing that can make my day more than getting a piece of hate mail from one of my biggest fans out there!

As I count down the days to my Faux Top One Percent Spirited Winter Holidays Abroad, I admit that with all the thick-headed threads that are appearing and ridiculous arguments that I am looking forward to my MAGICal sabbatical. I'll miss plenty of you like @Lee because of his wife, @alissafalco because she has such a gentle Spirit, @flynnibus because he has never met an argument that he didn't want to win at all costs, and he's a smart dude too, @lazyboy97o because his posts make a great deal of sense while usually keeping emotion out, @ParentsOf4 because I really want to meet and work with someone who can clearly delineate complex points into their core issues, @TP2000 because he damn well knows how to dress and what is classy versus tacky and literally dozens of you that I don't have the time to list, but I won't miss the people or the threads that make me wonder about the sanity of the posters. But I wish all of you the happiest of holiday seasons because (no fanboi jokes here) I am one giving Spirit.

Speaking of giving, I heard a great joke (in my head) earlier today. It said that new O-Town Lifestyler SuperCouple Tom Amity Corless and Scarlett Litton had registered with Theme Park Connection for their wedding gifts!

I posted this here on its own thread in the middle of the night and it was moved somewhere where it will die a quick death , but since almost anything goes here I'm adding this. This would be a very good thing if it happens.

$110 million water park on unused former Yankees/Orioles spring training site with no tax money, so that South Floridians don't have to drive to WDW or SW to get water park action. I still am not holding my breath.

http://www.local10.com/news/constru...ark/-/1717324/23274226/-/t8s6fxz/-/index.html

BTW, I am no more than 50/50 that it will happen, but I sure hope it does.

@WDWFigment, you are not heading to DLR this weekend as someone said in the Twitverse are you? If so, you absolutely are gonna get the crown (or tiaras) as the real Power Couple of Disney Lifestylers whether you live in the middle of nowhere or not! :)

Watching whales beach themselves in SoFla today was not a fun thing (no, didn't see it in person, just all over the news!)

I could really go for one of those Christmas Cookies.

Spirited Holiday Secret: I have never had eggnog in my life. Seriously. (But unlike most fanbois, I have had lots of coffee, alcohol and gals!)

So, @KevinYee wrote about the fact those MAGIC Bands can track you? Little late, Kev, but welcome to the game. Those devices aren't 'dead' either when you take them home. Now, what good that is, I have no idea (I am sure @flynnibus will come in and tell us that no other company's readers could ever interact with them or take info off them without you knowing, but ...)

Right now, I have friends enjoying MAGICal trips to TDR, DLR and Las Vegas. Question: what three destinations would I prefer visiting over O-Town.

Anyone out there been to BGT for their ChristmasTown this year? Comments?

The more I talk to folks and read, the more I am convinced that O-Town wasn't all that busy over the holiday weekend.

Have I told y'all that Jason Surrell and his 'tude really are on my nerves. Maybe @WDWFigment or someone else can tell him because I am so sure he never reads this forum! (Does sarcasm really need smiley?)

Kudos to Disney for the lovely 'Ode to Attractions That We Destroyed For Crap'' Collection. Fanbois, you can absolutely buy me the Horizons or Imagination shirts (Large, please!)

Yes, the MK is open until the late, late hour of 10 tonight (usually about my dinner time) ... why? Likely because there are lots of people who don't want to pay TDO extortion for Christmas entertainment and don't want to be forced out of the park at 7 p.m.

So, last year's Georgie K greed play disaster of having the CP at DL on 20 nights instead of the traditional two died a quick death and Anaheim will host it only on two nights this weekend.

Yes, Star Wars in the parks really was delayed over script issues and, yes, Imagineers have been moved over to SDL thus freezing projects. No, it doesn't mean anything more than those simple facts.

Yes, Disney hates Potter and their thick-headed execs think its a flash in the pan! Totally explains why they run Potter films on ABC Family like an addict mainlining heroin.

Wow, I haven't even looked at the last three issues of The Hollywood Reporter. I really need to catch up on my reading!

What's on your minds?
You should add Palm Springs to your list of non O-Town getaways, and it's only 2 hours drive to DLR.

We NYers love hearing people from SoCal and Florida call 60 degrees cold! Haha I remember I was in Florida a few years ago and it was 60 all week. People had their giant winter coats on! Haha today in NYC it's 50 and I considered that too warm for a jacket lol. Though I envy the fact that 60 degrees is considered cold lol
