if some one else brought it up, and now I brought it up, maybe, your information on the subject is not correct.

it can't be a figment of two peoples imagination at once. not even when dealing with Disney.
All I can say is my friends in AdLib have looked and asked and there is no evidence, my archive contacts can find no evidence, and there is no rock effect on the 1970-1 blueprints of the Cambodian Ruins.

You`re not thinking of the old physical falling rock effect in BTMs earthquake cave are you?

ok, i was there october 1st 1971 and not only was king louie there, but there was also the giant can of mustard later used in america on parade in that ride plus multiple "big trees" that sang the entire score of 1776 (this was when jc went though liberty square because the riverboat was just a canoe in those days) and obama danced the charleston on top of the haunted mansion (obama's old people).

It totally happened people and my psychiatrist agrees with me.

I'm thinking that the OP went on a ride very similar to Jungle Cruise that had a scene like the one he describes and is remembering that. Or maybe the Skipper referred to the monkey in the temple as KING LOUIE. I know I've mixed up plenty of rides from my youth.

This is pry the best explanation for all of this that i have heard yet....

That is what I was thinking and the rocks in the caves in BTMR and th two might be combined in his mind.

Honestly...

I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS!

 :sohappy:

This Thread = A HOOT!

Seriously. I'd be happy to hear how a "falling rock" effect could work in 1970's era Magic Kingdom, when many years later in the 1990's they had major problems with the same effect on Indy, not working til' this very day.

Plus...you could just go to Jungle Cruise and look at the temple ceiling and see how it's...you know....flat.

Wow what an interesting thread!!

Sometimes I have a dream and I wake up, go through the day and can't figure out whether that event really happened or whether it was a dream.

Maybe that's what this King Louie business is all about

The falling rocks in the temple at DL in the 70's rings a bell with me, but I think it was the CM's acting + a kid's (my) active imagination and not really an effect.

And what's the deal with the big tree?

I thought that the largest tree at the MK when it opened was the Liberty Tree in Liberty Square. You know the 100 year old, transported from elsewhere, irreplaceable oak tree.

All my illusions dashed around here . . . next thing you're going to tell me is that the Castle wasn't really transported brick by brick from Latveria.

King Louie was part of the Makong river. and they played the music and the discussion was that he wanted to join our boat.. and as you went through the tunnel, the "rocks" came down from the ceiling.

Could you be confusing one of the regular gorillas for "king louie?" I know that the skippers go "off script" sometimes. Could that be why you believe this to have happened?

Also, could you be confusing the "falling rocks" from BTMR lift hill for the JC temple?

Seriously, wouldn't those scenes be in the Imagineer's guide to MK book that came out a few years ago if they did happen? :veryconfu
