Personally, I like characters who don't murder their fathers. I think whatever potential Jar Jar Abrams brought to Force Awakens (and I originally loved the new trio of heroes) was ignored and/or slaughtered by Last Jedi. All Abrams can hope to do now is make something that at least doesn't self-destruct in the projection room. This trilogy is complete, unadulterated gibberish. It's mind-blowing how Disney managed to not just drop the ball with this franchise, but drop the ball to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.I like Kylo.,,killing Han and then sparing Leia, trying to do what he thinks is right.

Call me crazy for not getting behind a corporate, make-it-up-as-we-go-along, each director trying to undo what the previous director did type of storytelling, but... This is the opposite of how a film trilogy is supposed to work. This is as close to computer-written randomness as any major franchise has ever come. And now it's a mess. And it will be quickly forgotten. Thank goodness.

See Tron Legacy.
I did. And I fell asleep during part of it.See Tron Legacy.
Exactly.I did. And I fell asleep during part of it.
They are not unsold sequel toys. They are just impossible to find at retail. The TROS figures have been out since Oct 3rd. They are not exactly warming the pegs because Target/Walmart never got them. Just try to find the 6" the Mandalorian and Fall Jedi figures.I really think Disney, at this point, faced with a Galaxy's Edge that doesn't resonate with the GP and countless unsold sequel toys, wishes it could start all over again with SW. And they will.
No thanks. Call me if one of them makes it into Smash Brothers and gets an amiibo. I'm just referring to the current SW trilogy not being the huge merchandising juggernaut Disney was hoping for-- I worded it poorly.Just try to find the 6" the Mandalorian and Fall Jedi figures.
Under Disney's watch there really hasn't been very much merchandise to begin with. Before Disney we would get 30-50 figures per non movie year. Now we only get 10 in a movie year and good luck finding them. Disney's star wars toy merchandise distribution has been dirt poor. Retail stores don't stock their shelves with star wars toys anymore. I get my stuff online from Amazon, Entertainment Earth and Dork side toys. Even the theme park stores have very little. No thanks. Disney doesn't seem to know how to handle toys and videogames at all. It's almost as if they hire execs who aren't interested, don't know the characters, and never visit theme parks. But, naaah.... no company would be that clueless...Under Disney's watch there really hasn't been very much merchandise to begin with. Before Disney we would get 30-50 figures per non movie year. If he's holding a list, looking confused, and asking for help from an employee (and mispronouncing the character's name), he's trying to buy a toy for his kid. When you see a man in his 30s in the action figure aisle you have to wonder... is he buying that for his child... or himself?
Of course, we all thought this trailer looked really good too when we first saw it. We camped out for days just to see the trailer.

All the marketing in the world cannot turn a movie no one has any interest in into a huge hit. Sometimes peoples' instincts for a stinker really do triumph over a greedy corporation's belief that that public will eat any dish of trash that's marketed to them.
