Coppola worked on captain eo so not sure why he is talking.
Didn't Coppola have to direct Captain EO out of debt from Lucas bailing out his production company? The Cotton Club put American Zoetrope in financial crisis. Coppola had no idea how to make a 3D movie which added to cost overruns. Katzenberg tried to rein in the production and make cuts but Lucas stood up for Coppola. The whole project was a total mess.

Harsh, Troy. Movies are allowed to be nothing-but-fun popcorn flicks. I personally can't stand the Marvel films, but I'm not going to say the joy millions get from them is a bad thing.
I didn't say they were a bad thing, just critiquing them for what they are: shallow products for a massive conglomerate. Enjoy them or don't, just don't pretend they're sophisticated cinema.

Not that I'm disagreeing about the Marvel films, but "sophisticated" is a relative term. Many of cinema's most treasured classics started out as big studio assembly line product. It all comes down to the talent involved.

Like Back to the Future, when they shot a bunch of the movie with Eric Stoltz before they were finally able to get Michael J Fox

Started as but finished as more.

Can someone explain to me how these new eBay taxes are legal? Why do we have to pay taxes twice on the same item? The seller paid taxes when they bought the item. Why should the buyer on eBay pay taxes too?

Yeah, eBay has been adding taxes to certain purchases in certain states for a few years now.
I remember a couple of years ago I noticed if sellers were listed in certain states, whatever their states tax percentage was had to be added into the final price.

Dare I ask what the price was before tax??? I’ve been tempted, but can’t find one for a price I feel comfortable with.

lol $180. I know I know. But I justified buying some of these expensive ones lately by selling other collectables I just had sitting around in the closet. Of course now these are also just sitting in the closet.

If you really want one I’d buy now while their is a lot of inventory.

Superheroes flicks are shallow and not cinema. They're based off picture books for children designed to sell products with all the major characters owned by two massive corporate studios. They're not comparable to the westerns or stories based off classic literature or folk lore. They're not even a genre. They're glorified action movies at best and a waste of time at worst.
Are we just pretending dime novels weren’t a thing?

Stores pay tax when they purchase their merchandise. The tax is on the transactions, not the item.
