The drum spins....the timer works....but after 60 minutes the clothes are wet and cold. Clearly the natural gas is not making it to the dryer drum and heating the clothes.
So now I have gone to Home Depot and purchased a 5 foot gas hose/line. I pray that when the installer(s) come tomorrow that this 5 foot line/hose will be the answer.Message_1583006238971.jpg

Where is the gas going if not to the dryer? Hope it is shut off
I'm not qualified to answer that. Yet...fear not...I'm not using the machine again. The gas dryer guys will be here tomorrow between 12 noon and 4pm. The plumber at Home Depot who sold me the 5 foot line/hose fully understood the situation. He looked at the gas line photos I took. He did not tell me to do anything with the gas. I'm sure it is fine. Please don't tell me otherwise. I've got enough on my plate already....and yet...I very much know you just want what is best for me. Thanks for looking out for my well being.

I'm so glad they liked it!! I'm still sad for them that the owner won't let them continue to the end of the season. You said tryouts are in May...does that mean they won't actually be on a team right now?
No, no team. There are only 8 weeks left of the season. I signed her up for a flexibilty/stretching class and a class where they get to learn and practice stunts with athletes from their high level 6 team. Then she can do open gym on Fridays. I will be up there twice a week only and one mom and I are going to try and carpool on Fridays so we aren’t putting too much mileage on our cars. We will alternate who drives. Dd will still get a 30 minute private lesson once every other week for tumbling at the old gym until she starts team. The money goes right to a coach and doesn’t involve the gym. I did get a cashiers check from the old gym today that required a signature on delivery. We were given a refund for the competitions we already paid for. Once I got that it made it more of a reality that it really was done. Dd has been going there since she was 2. Never thought we would have to ever go somewhere else.

Around our area there are some stores called Play it Again Sports where people trade in our sell sports equipment. I don’t know if you have something like that in your area but it might be worth looking at for equipment. Some organizations even organize trades, especially for hockey because the cost of that equipment is so high and kids grow out of it so fast.

We do have Play it Again Sports here!

I know that personally, I wanted to move south for years. Early on my wife and daughters shot me down on the idea. What? Leave beautiful Vermont where all our friends and relatives lived. What are you crazy. No, no, a thousand times no! So I did nothing for years. When events finally dictated that I was able to make that move (nine years ago) I finally did it. My only regret is that I didn't do it a whole lot sooner. I've loved my time down here and sadly regret wasting all those years unhappy. From someone that knows, life is to short to be miserable for 7 months out of the year.

I know that sometimes life just prevents us from getting to our dreams. But, every opportunity should be explored and pursued. OK, that will be all of my solemn and serious ranting for today unless I completely lose my mind and go to the political thread. It's depressing enough to see my retirement account declining at the speed of light this week.
It's the job with a pension vs warm at this point

I am hoping to make some vegetable soup today. We went to Wegman’s before we went to the gym last night because it is only a few minutes from their. I picked up a cup of their veggie soup since I hadn’t eaten. It was dairy free and gluten free. It was so good and it gave me the craving to make my own. Bonus about the new gym, Wegman’s!
I hope the new gym works out well for your dd. Wegman's:inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry:

No it’s just a normal bat. In all seriousness, it’s not that uncommon have a price range for kids to have a bat at this price. He’s definitely not the only one on his team who has it, one kid from his team last year had one that was more expensive. Some kids, the ones who are less serious about baseball, they don’t have more expensive equipment because it doesn’t matter to them as much. That’s OK too.

It’s really no different than any other equipment for any other sport. Even running shoes, You can buy a $25 pair of running shoes at target, or someone can buy a $150+ pair of running shoes from Nike or asics, etc. Both shoes to perform the same basic task, but one will be a lot better quality and a lot more comfortable.

I’m frustrated that it is still an expensive item and apparently not “pinging” the ball well, and T is not comfortable with the way it feels when contacts the ball. I don’t fully understand... the trainer said it’s due to the new rules set for baseball where they changed bat regulations (this is a ‘new’ regulation bat)... so let’s say I shell out that much money to replace the gift, and then it still doesn’t feel well to him. There’s no way to practice hitting prior to buying a bat... you would think there would be.

When I buy T’s soccer cleats we go to a soccer store that has a tunnel to kick a ball and juggle so you can feel the contact of foot and ball prior to buying. When I buy running shoes I go to a running store where I can run on the treadmill prior to purchasing.
I wish we had a baseball-specific store where I could get help and ask questions about the USA regulations, and have him do more than just quickly swing a bat. Dicks customer service people are not that helpful when it comes to anything more than answering “where are the x items at?” 😂
Sorry your D's is so bad at CS ours is excellent and generally staffed with student athletes who know what they're doing for the most part. Funny thing is I power walk and the best pair I've found is about 35 or 40. Then again I never pay rack rate so I forget what the retail is and stock up when they're that price

Almost forgot about that place. My older ds found his bowling ball there. We walked in on a whim and the perfect one was just sitting there:joyfull:

That's tough to watch. (And I also realize that you're dealing with the loss of your childhood home. That, in itself, is difficult to come to terms with.)

I admire your parents. They have a positive spirit and willingness to pitch in, and make things better. Not everyone would have reacted that way, particularly at their age. Shows what good emotional energy they both have, and that's 90% of the battle right there. God bless them.

Thank you so very much, Minnie...I wish all of you here could know them, as they are definitely special folks...!!!!! :inlove::happy:
Tough indeed, but, we’re all handling it together, and that’s what’s most important.
I was actually 13 when we moved there, and spent my childhood in homes in San Antonio, TX, Huntsville, AL, and 2 in San Jose, CA. But, I still spent most of my teen years there, and, as noted before, my folks have lived there for 43+ years, and it has always been our “Family Central”.
And, as also noted before, it’s not bein’ razed to the slab, and so much was salvageable. Actually makes the whole process much more complicated, but, we continue to thank the good Lord that my folks are safe, and it wasn’t a total loss.
Again, thank you so very much, Minnie...!!! :)
