Around our area there are some stores called Play it Again Sports where people trade in our sell sports equipment. I don’t know if you have something like that in your area but it might be worth looking at for equipment. Some organizations even organize trades, especially for hockey because the cost of that equipment is so high and kids grow out of it so fast.

We have 3 “Play it Again Sports” in our area, although I’ve never been to one of their locations.

Just came back from church. For now no more hand shaking, only nod to each other due to coronavirus.

Yes, that is the same in my church, too. But they remind people of this every year, during the flu season up here. So, this is nothing new to us.

Oh, I was watching a brief news clip with Dr. Oz yesterday. He was (semi-joking) that the safest thing to do was an elbow bump! :joyfull: (He said even a fist bump would create some contact, so he didn't recommend that.)

So now I have gone to Home Depot and purchased a 5 foot gas hose/line. I pray that when the installer(s) come tomorrow that this 5 foot line/hose will be the answer.View attachment 452877

Your scenario reminds me a little of when we got a new (electric) dryer from Lowe's (about 6 years ago). Even though we ordered the correct exhaust hose, the installer guys brought a wrong one! They left and it wasn't working properly at all, and it also had a banging sound.

Called Lowe's and they had a local repairman come over with the proper exhaust hose the next day, and he fixed it all. Oh, and the noise came from some sort of packing ring thingie, and the installer guys had not removed it!! Duh!!

By the way, the installer guys came from some big manufacturer's warehouse down South, and were private contractors, not employees of the store.

Thanks Minnie. I also suggested elbow bumb on another post. I lead by example, I touch public surfaces with my elbow, knee, etc without exposing skin contact to the surfaces. A member critiqued the elbow bump in that people sneeze into their elbow. Can't win them all.😕

There is a video going viral of foot tapping instead of handshakes. Might catch on . Will see if I can find it for you 😁

Edit: found it .

No, no team. There are only 8 weeks left of the season. I signed her up for a flexibilty/stretching class and a class where they get to learn and practice stunts with athletes from their high level 6 team. Then she can do open gym on Fridays. I will be up there twice a week only and one mom and I are going to try and carpool on Fridays so we aren’t putting too much mileage on our cars. We will alternate who drives. Dd will still get a 30 minute private lesson once every other week for tumbling at the old gym until she starts team. The money goes right to a coach and doesn’t involve the gym. I did get a cashiers check from the old gym today that required a signature on delivery. We were given a refund for the competitions we already paid for. Once I got that it made it more of a reality that it really was done. Dd has been going there since she was 2. Never thought we would have to ever go somewhere else.

I'm glad the "ordeal" is over for you and your daughter. It really sounds like she'll be in such a better place moving forward. And it's really good that you can carpool with another one of the mothers. :)

Ugh....have you used the company with the installers before? My previous washing machine was a whirlpool and my regular repair guy was on vacation, so I had the installment guys from the appliance store do it, but they didn't tell me what anything was, and none of it was in the manual they gave me. I hated that washing machine from day one. I couldn't wait until it died and I could get a new one. Called my regular guy, he had the new one for me the next day(a Bosch), installed, and he walked me through every cycle and function and everything. It's sooooo much nicer. A good repairman makes a huge difference!

Thanks Minnie. DD had me buy her a new water bottle yesterday. The one she previously used was one that had the gyms name on it. She didn't want to go to the new gym with something that had the old gyms name. She thought it wasn't appropriate. We got it from Amazon because our local Walmart didn't have the one she wanted in stock. She pointed out to me that some of the water bottles the kids from her old gym had cost $50! 😲 I didn't believe her until she showed me the price. It is some trendy water bottle. Luckily for me she understood that it was ludicrous to spend $50 on a water bottle. She chose a glass one with a foam covering that had one of the new gyms colors. It was under $10.

Good for her! :inlove:

Your comments above made me chuckle a little, about deja vu to my own germ-infested childhood. If we used a gym and got thirsty, we'd sip water from the water bubbler (or water fountain, as they refer to it in other areas). Water was always free. No one brought a bottle of water to a gym. I'm sure I picked up every germ possible from those public fountains, but I figure my immunity is probably iron clad at this state of my life, due to that! :hilarious:

Your post brought back memories of water fountains and drinking water from the garden hose, hand sanitizers were unknown in my youth, my mom would say wash your hands (ivory soap). Bottled water unheard of. How on earth did we survive our germ ridden youth to produce germaphobe offspring(Joking)

And then make that shirt come in contact with the person you don't like 😇

The markets overreaction is absolutely crazy.
The common cold and flu is just as dangerous to those immune compromised. Common sense kind of goes out the window it seems when the news media pushes a story for ratings. Wash your hands often and don’t touch your face after touching public surfaces. If I am in a public bathroom I will use my sleeve or hold a paper towel when I open a door.

Thank you for your post. I have used Lowes for my washing machine. It went fine. That was just 15 months ago.
