I'm not being critical if you don't know where the main cut off is for the gas to the house or the main cut off for the dry have them show you where it is for your own safety. That goes for the water as well
I never thought you were being critical. I always thought you were being helpful. I know where the shut off is for both the water and the gas. I did not want to shut off the gas to my home because our home is heated via hot water baseboard that needs the gas.

Please think of the dryer this way. The old dyer was used once or twice at most a day. On my getaway vacations it would go 10 days without use. There is gotta be a valve that keeps the gas safe. My current situation is the same. Nothing is gonna happen. And hopefully my situation will be resolved in a few hours.

And then make that shirt come in contact with the person you don't like 😇

The markets overreaction is absolutely crazy.
Whether called an overreaction or not, it is still a REAL loss of value and retirement security. It only hurts slightly more because it is caused by stupidity and panic. That, however, is pretty much due to not having any faith in what we are told. Pretty soon all of society is going to be so scared about absolutely everything that we will all be attired in our own personal bubble shield.

I have a dumb question. They turned off the gas to the dryer when they took your old one out, did they turn it back on after they were done installing the new one?
@Rista1313 should definitely take a bow. She asked a SMART question. You can see her question just above. As some of you may recall, I responded that I was not qualified to answer. Later in the thread I pointed out that I knew how to turn the gas off for the entire house(implied was that I did not how to turn the gas off for just the laundry room.)
Sure enough, yesterday's installers turned off the gas....hooked up the new dryer...made it run....fooled me into thinking all was well.....but yesterday's knuckleheads never turned the gas back to the on position.
So now the dryer works fine.
I have been taught how to do the laundry room gas on / off myself if it is ever needed. Not hard!
I can return the 5 foot gas line kit back to Home Depot for a refund.
What an unnecessary waste of time the last 24 hours have been! :(

Glad you got it straightened out--- waste of your time but you did find where the dryer cut off is so not a complete waste

great.. I started watching THE WITCHER on netflix and now I have the darn song of "toss a coin to a witcher" stuck in my head...

After watching the Crown on Netflix and the Man in the High Castle on Amazon (which I stopped after episode 5), I'm at a loss what to watch on those platforms. I tried watching the Tudors, got all the way to episode 6 before I stopped.
