From what I read, as usual, Florida is that Uncle we never talk about. Some are ignoring the stay on DST bill that passed, and some are following it. All I see is mass confusion and people throwing everything out of synchronization. Georgia will be on Standard Time, western Florida (the panhandle) is in the central time zone. And if you are going to change why not change it to actual standard time that the world world recognizes. Almost everyone uses Standard Time. There is no need for DST at anytime. No matter where you set your clock there will never be any gain of actual daylight hours. It will just fall an hour different.

The whole idea of daylight savings is ridiculous anyway. The only reason why the public wants it now is because it extends the daylight later at night to presumably have more outside activity, but, everyone is sitting inside playing with their electronic devices, getting that glowing, handsome tan via LED lighting. Just think Drive In movies could be a thing again and the movie would be able to start an hour earlier. Then we might be able to get home from a double feature sometime before 2am.

I cannot speak for others, but we definitely take advantage of the longer days in the summertime. I wish we didn't have DST, but since we do, we enjoy it as best we can.

I am going to bed an hour earlier and waking up earlier. Technically that is ok for me since I teach my Chinese students early in the morning. They do not observe daylight savings so they are 13 hours ahead. I am now booking 5 am classes. I am done by 8 am now. I cannot be booked after 8 am anymore. China made a new rule that they no longer want children taking online classes after 9pm there time.
I made it to the gym in the morning yesterday for the first time since before I went to Hawaii. I woke up exhausted this morning, so I skipped the gym and slept an extra hour. It was glorious.

I'm a night owl, so this is fine by me. It's when the time changes in the spring that my body's like..."Yeah, no."

If cookbooks, how to books and books on nutrition count I've exceeded my reading goal for the year:D
The nature of my job means that sometimes, I have long periods where nothing comes in, or I'm doing something fairly mindless (like copying and pasting). Audiobooks come in handy for these situations. Plus with having migraines, audiobooks are a godsend because I can often listen to a book when I can't do much else. About half of the books I've "read" were actually audiobooks. They count.

I love DST and on a sunny and warm day, I love being outside. I thought it was so weird when we went to Disney in November and it got dark by 5. Once it is dark, my body thinks it is time for bed. Lots of countries do DST.

My 2019 calendar I have displayed in my house states that Veterans Day is Monday Nov. 11th.
Halfway thru the first sentence of this post I paused and entered "Veterans Day" in the Google search engine and it also states Mon. Nov. 11th.
So how come my town's Public Works Dept. is observing it today? Everyone in my neighborhood has their cans out for our usual Tues. morning pick up. None of us were "in the know". So I called the appropriate Public Works phone number at 1:15pm and it went immediately to a recording saying they are closed today for the holiday.

I loved scrunchies and banana clips in the 80s 🤣🤣. Does anyone else remember the clips? They went up your head so your hair was in a sort of cascading ponytail which made the hair longer than a normal pony.
I begged for one and I actually got one, but my hair was too thick for it. I couldn't get it closed around my hair. :( I also remember the shirt clips...like a plastic belt buckle to cinch your shirt, and plastic charm belts and necklaces. There were particular charms you HAD to have, like the telephone and the banana. Did you have those?
