Can I stay home from work! Really don't want to cross the bridges in the rain and wind. I curse people driving on a good day....never mind a rain/wind storm. I have a jingle that I say to a lot of the cars out there but it's not for a family site.

Hee hee . . . it's not as bad as what I'm facing when I walk from the train to work--across areas between tall buildings. The wind whips around on a "calm" day, let alone today--with projected winds up to 65 in gusts in the city. The last time this happened, I was crossing a street and nearly fell--a guy nearby, grabbed my arm and sort of pulled me across the street with him!

I'd love to be tall and lean. I'm 5' 5", with an average size I guess, but everything I buy has to be shortened in the sleeve length and leg length.

I have problems with pants being too short for me. I have a few pairs I added a ruffle or lace to make them appear longer

One of my pet peeves for years is that men's pants come in different lengths you can buy, but not women's pants.

The 6am weather update has us squarely in the 12-18 inch band of snow to come. We already have a heavy glazing of ice everywhere and an inch or so over that. I feel a Potterthon coming on

Very but there should not be tax on shoes. Not a political statement just sayin. Shoes are as important as air or water!

No tax on apparel (including shoes) in the state of Minnesota. That's why I cross the border to shop. Maybe you and @MinnieM123 need to come visit me at the mall of America.

This kind of baseless data drives me crazy.

We had 3 foreign exchange students over 5 years from Germany all from the same family. First an extremely classy young woman and wise beyond her years. The next one was still a well mannered young person but more of a spit fire and had ways of finding fun. The youngest we wanted to ship back. A sour person, always gloomy and would do things to provoke my family and would whine about everything and liked nothing. She would also come out of shower and parade around the house in a bra and panties which made my Dad beyond uncomfortable. So three non American kids from across the pond. America isn't perfect but I find on a whole lots of people just view us unfairly as all as Ugly Americans. Now placing all of our kids and parents into one size fits all type demographic and making making sweeping over generalizations is beyond insulting. Me, close that browser. Put the kid in their room and tell them they can only come out when they act properly and not whine or throw tantrums. They learn pretty quickly.

I fail to understand some over the pond parenting styles but I wouldn't dare say everyone over the pond is this way with their children.

ORLANDO – An Italian tourist was arrested Saturday after allegedly kicking his 3-year-old son in the face at Walt Disney World's Epcot theme park.

Central Florida News 13 reports Dario Napolitano was arrested after allegedly kicking the boy while the child was in his stroller at the Mexico exhibit in Epcot's World Showcase.

According to a police report, several witnesses said they saw Napolitano, a doctor in Italy, kick his son after arguing with his wife and children.

Detectives say the boy had a cut below his left eye, bruising above his eyebrow and his entire left eye was swollen.

Napolitano and his wife blamed their older son for the child's injuries in the report.

"(Napolitano) yelled at him a second time to stop and he complied throwing [the younger son] out of the stroller on the ground. He went up to his son [the older son] and slapped him twice across the face because he hurt his brother," the report reads, according to Central Florida News 13.

Napolitano was freed on $2,000 bond over the weekend. Neither he nor his wife allowed his son to be taken to a hospital.

Not particularly! I'm 5"-10" - 5'11" (depending on how long it's been since I've had traction, lol) and he's about the same height. I am the shortest one in my family though, and all our family's kids are tall. Tall and lean.

I would say that 5'10" is pretty tall for a woman. I think average height is about 5'5".

Hey everyone........

So.......my doctor has been insisting that I have a colonoscopy for like a year, and the inevitable has finally arrived. I have to have the procedure a week from tomorrow (March 9).

I'm totally freaking out and could use some reassurance that (hopefully) it's not that bad from people who have had it done.

I hear the prep where you have to fast for 24 hours is worse than the procedure.

Any comments are welcome, although I don't know why I have to do this anyway. All they are going to find in there is vodka.

My step-dad had it done and had no issue. He had it done at Booth Memorial. Don't know if you are having it done in Queens or Manhattan, but NY has some of the best doctors in the country, so I wouldn't worry.

Yes! She is awesome and I am jealous of her career too. Many have tried to compete with her in the world of websites and blogging but nobody does it nearly as well. She isn't mean but she is direct and honest. The honest part is where many stumble.

She started something at the right time and it was an original idea at the time.That is half the battle, starting something original. It is very hard to do. What is crazy is that she lives in Texas and could still pull it off. Lots of money on flights spent.

Just spent quite a while for first time in a very long time with Ol' Red, my first guitar...!!!!!
Fingertips a bit sore, but, I still got it..!!!!!
Being able to play your own music by your own hand when you want too is such great therapy...!!!!!!!

I have a hard time finding pants that are long enough as well. When I was pregnant I had to order maternity pants from the UK because they didn't make them long enough anywhere here. I have a 35" inseam (36-37" if I'm wearing heels), and most American companies consider 31" to be a "tall" length
