No, we have been able to tough it out it the past, I'm not sure this year, as I keep getting colder the older I get. Hubby is opposite, he just gets hotter. No I don't mean it that way! Looking at you @MR FERRET.

Dinner's on the stove, lazy mom's hot and sour soup (I hope it warms me up). Not much sleep tonight as we're chaperoning my ds's dance tonight, he's too little to have those! At least we get to hang out with his best bud's parents
I love my fireplace.I've thought about that too. We lose our power often in the winter, if we have really bad storms. We lost our power one year for three days, during a blizzard. It got mighty cold in the house, we weren't allowed to have a real wood burning fireplace. Ours are electric with an electric starter. Doesn't do you any good in a power outage.
We go through a pickup truckload of wood during an average winter. The last few years I've had to get extra. 
A portable generator got my family through a few days without power after we had a tornado touch down not far from us. I may never need it again but it puts my mind at ease having it.

Normally I would be. For today, I'm just glad there were no more classes to miss today.Is anyone else as happy as I am that it is Friday?!?!? Nothing bad happened this week, but it just seemed long. I really need a good Saturday relaxing with my dog and a book. Oh and hubby can be around too.

Like Polka Dots I also have a thing for Palm Trees. N. Illinois not exactly known for the palms, I plant 5 palms in my yard for the summer months. They cost about $12 each at Ikea. It is funny to see my truck in late spring loaded with palms.
