I hope they don't shut your power down. How are you going to play on Chit Chat with your buddies here, if you don't have power? :(
I've thought about that too. We lose our power often in the winter, if we have really bad storms. We lost our power one year for three days, during a blizzard. It got mighty cold in the house, we weren't allowed to have a real wood burning fireplace. Ours are electric with an electric starter. Doesn't do you any good in a power outage. They have a heater in them, but won't work in this situation.

Yah, that's fine, but I'd also just wish they'd let these kids be kids, and enjoy some cake and ice cream. Next thing you know, they'll ban them from smiling while on school property . . . oh, I hate this stuff. And you know what? I had 8 years of nuns in school, and even they seem lightweight compared to some the rules these kids have to follow. :banghead:
I agree, just trying to put a positive spin on the crazy rules today. We never had to think about what we brought to school. I wonder why no one, in my elementary years had food restrictions.

That's quick. My Dad was sent to hospital in care rehab. I have to say he was there at least a month. But we have to remember my Dad was not great at doing what he needed to do with his heart operation nor his hip so both times they rehab'd him. He has amazing health coverage and they pick up a 100% of whatever medicare doesn't. Both the hospital and rehab center for his hip were more than willing to keep him as long as Doc's said necessary. And my Mom got a needed break as he is 'needy.'
That was wise , caregivers can get really tired, from the stress, and taking care of a loved one.

Sympathy like! We have a kerosene heater for emergencies only. I hope I never have to use it again. Seeing your dh is good with electricity can he make a battery jump starter for the gas unit?

We are stuck in the low 60's, cloudy and high winds. Right now they are whistling like they do during a snow storm making it feel very chilly. I'm not ready for this yet. Well ever.
It's 59 degrees here right now and I am never ever ready or going to be ready for that. What good is living in the south if you can't be sweaty, smelly and saying things like... sure is a hot one today ain't it? Or...are ya'all keeping cool?
