Lenovo G50, I had to use my mother's computer for the next 4 months and with my Lenovo Tablet. Since my previous Laptop one day crashed and we couldn't get it fixed. Thankfully I got it just in time for my first year in a community College. I'm planning on taking the Disney Dreamers Academy when I complete community college and when I head to a local college who does it. Especially after my third visit to WDW.

This might explain why I haven't been posting as often these especially during the night.
looks like an OK laptop.
Lenovo(IBM) are always very resilient and durable.

Considering I had two kids, I only had to do it once.

Son #1 decided at 19 months that he was done with diapers, refusing to wear anything except at night.
Zero daytime accidents, and only 3 overnight BM incidents from that day forward. He never even made it out of size 4 diapers, as he insisted on Pull-Ups for bedtime.

And before you think I'm brilliant ... Son #2 insisted on wearing them until he was 38 months! :banghead:
did he grew a moustache too?
I mean.. that's so manly to just say "NO MORE!" lol

Hmm...

Android smartphone, iPod touch, Android Tablet, Microsoft Surface, and a laptop.

I've got a few toys pieces of technology. I like technology and am willing to spend my money on it (other than my laptop, I saved up for my devices and paid for them). I guess because we had a Windows ME computer (yes really) for nine years without upgrading it, with dial up, that now I'm making up for it. The good thing was that the Windows ME computer was always acting up, so we had a Windows ME for Dummies book, so between that and basically teaching myself, I learned a good bit on my own about computers. Now, whenever something goes wrong with any piece of technology in my house, I suddenly hear my name.
I'm in a similar point.
I got a BIG computer rig (I'm talking a dual screen Quad core system with 16Gb of ram and a 3d card, big keyboard, wacom drawing tablet, big speakers.. big printer. UPS systems), a media server, Samsung Android tablet, Samsung Note 4, a Surface 3 (that plays as laptop, drawing tablet and tablet). I still dont touch apple things with a tent foot pole.

also, Windows ME is terrible.
That thing would crash by itself by merely leaving it running doing nothing.
And been using computers since good old Windows 3 and MSDOS 6.22
I feel old D:

And I feel your pain. Nothing more annoying that everyone expecting you to repair every single tech problem in the entire extended family (including cousins)

I got a notice for an upgrade to windows 10 free upgrade. I hate this version I have. Any thoughts anyone. Should be out by the end of the month.
I always say wait for the first patches to come out.
While Windows 7 and 8 were pretty stable when they got out...
I still remember the nightmares of Windows 98 to 98SE, Windows XP to Windows Vista..etc..
Most recommend to wait until the first "service pack". but with the advent of internet.. that is moot point (as you get updates as soon they are available)

but so far.. Windows 10 seems to be the perfect mixture between Windows 8 METRO system and Windows 7 "Windows" system.

also.

Windows 10 is free to everyone who owns Windows 7 and 8 If I remember correctly.
but the offer is only available in the first year after Windows 10 release.

So sad. What tech has done to the environment. We have multiple nuc plants up this way. Knowing this could happen is scary as all heck. So what do they start doing, Frack'n. I do feel badly for the children brought into the world of tomorrow. We are leaving them ticking disasters. Poor things.
You know the funny thing?
The new reactors would have solved ALL these problems. But noone wants to pay for the upgrades.
Greedy energy companies says its too expensive to build in new safe plants.. and government is pressured by green groups to block any nuclear thing building/upgrading.
Which makes it even more dangerous for everyone!(as older generators, which were supposed to be decommissioned.. are forced to run for longer than expected life cycles)

If you're going to buy tech and you're not a tech person, Best Buy tends to be better because their salespeople are salaried, not commissioned, so they're going to try to sell you stuff you might not need, because they might get fired otherwise, but they're not exactly sleazy salespeople. I've always liked the two Best Buys I go to (one more so than the other, though). At some stores, when their livelihood is dependent on selling you stuff, they'll try to sell you more than you actually need. Best Buy is going to have less pushy salespeople, though.
Not at all. There has been cases of the Geek Squad outright lying to customers.
Including charging 300 USD for a simple loose cable (theres a documentary about it, probably in youtube)
Local pop and mom stores usually fixed these simple things for almost free.

Well that is good to hear. I've been there, it is annoying and more of a helpless feeling. Plus it is aggravating not being able to do what you should be able to do. When I threw out my back several years ago and took 1 1/2 years to get past, I did that by getting up off the couch. Nothing stupid. Just standing up. Go figure. My DD has messed her ankle so many times, seems to be her weak point. Glad you're moving in the right direction.
Hopefully total recovery is in the horizon?

I'm talking about their sales department, like when you go in and buy an actual computer. Better than Geek Squad. Contact the manufacturer first. But we've had good experiences just buying our tech from them.

I especially like it when I go in and say, "I'm just browsing, thanks," and they leave me alone to play with the stuff (and that is how I came out with my Android tablet...)

I had that happen last December. Was working on my laptop, left it for a moment, came back and found that the hard drive failed. Also replaced it with a Lenovo. I like it, although I mostly use my Surface now. Needed something lighter for lugging around campus, keep the laptop at home for longer papers and projects. What was nice was that nice student discount Microsoft gave me...

Hey girl! My ex has been putting me through some major drama and can't be on as much as I want either. :grumpy:

I'm sorry to hear that! I can totally relate, though. We just got back last night and already fighting this morning. :depressed: There were definitely a few snags during our trip, so not as magical as we'd hoped, but overall it was good. I could've used more alone time, though.

I'm going to try to catch up on the thread a bit before posting a TR. I need some decompression time and reading what y'all been up to is the perfect solution! :cat:

Sympathy like that everything wasn't perfect. So sorry about the fighting. You were missed. Have fun catching up. No rush for the TR when you're ready.
