@StarWarsGirl95 and @Cesar R M are both probably a better bet than me, actually.
All I have is a jacked-up laptop and an old iPhone...! ;)
Hmm...

Android smartphone, iPod touch, Android Tablet, Microsoft Surface, and a laptop.

I've got a few toys pieces of technology. I like technology and am willing to spend my money on it (other than my laptop, I saved up for my devices and paid for them). I guess because we had a Windows ME computer (yes really) for nine years without upgrading it, with dial up, that now I'm making up for it. The good thing was that the Windows ME computer was always acting up, so we had a Windows ME for Dummies book, so between that and basically teaching myself, I learned a good bit on my own about computers. Now, whenever something goes wrong with any piece of technology in my house, I suddenly hear my name.

I don't mind the hot temperatures at all, I just think of our winter temps and don't complain at all. I am loving our weather today though supposed to hit mid 80's and there is a lovely breeze again.

Our ages are different and that let me tell ya makes a difference. It was that real high dew point over the heat that was getting to me. Now today mid 80's and lower humidity and dew points I was in heaven.

I was listening to the weather report from the gentleman I have deep respect for and he said tonight that we are half way through the warm weather months. It made me sad since we have had so little warm so far. Now rain, rain we've had.

What I intended to do...come up for bed, catch up a bit with y'all, and watch some Netflix before going to bed.

What I actually did...my friend called and we ended up talking for an hour on the phone, which is weird because I hate talking on the phone, but with certain people, I like it. She's becoming bestie #2 to be honest.

Anyway, I'll have to catch up on some of the tech talk tomorrow. I love tech. I go to Best Buy just to play with the computers.

I got a notice for an upgrade to windows 10 free upgrade. I hate this version I have. Any thoughts anyone. Should be out by the end of the month.
Early reviews have been good. The way I figure it, they can't do any worse than Windows 8 has been. Biggest improvement will most likely be the lack of Internet Explorer, which I deactivated on our computers (and have been doing on mine for years

I'm planning on testing it on my Surface and then installing it on the rest of the computers if I like it (might have my parents try my Surface for a bit to see if they like it and want it on their desktop). Or I might do it on my laptop so if I don't like it, that's the machine I really only use for long papers anyway (Me+Surface 3=. I love it. I'm so glad I spent the money on it; I use it all the time).

You can go ahead and reserve the download and possibly decide later after more reviews have come out. It doesn't automatically install, so you can keep it on there and delete it if you decide you don't want it. But hey, free upgrade? Microsoft hasn't ever done this before.

And right there ... that's what would send me out to the electronics store to buy a whole new everything.
Ignorance + extreme laziness = bonus for Best Buy.
That's why I take my parents and my grandmother to Best Buy. And then set up their stuff.

Last time I went to see my grandma, she brought out her computer and said, "My pictures appear after a minute if I leave it at all! Make them go away!" Her screensaver was on; I turned it off, then she told me I was a genius. :hilarious: Not really grandma, but glad to help!

Cool!
I thought it was another girl, at first. But, upon closer inspection, I was pretty darn sure my final choice was correct. :)

Funny thing...
When we were at my folks two Sundays ago, my pop presented me with a box full of a bunch of stuff from my elementary school years. Amongst old RRR papers and a bunch of art type stuff, was my third grade class pic. I forgot to take the box with me, though.
I'll hafta' go grab it this weekend and see if y'all can guess which kiddo I am.
Let's all play...!!! :joyfull: ;)

and for today's "holy carp" moments..

How about MUTANT plants growing near the Fukushina Daichi plant?

http://www.weather.com/science/nature/news/mutant-flowers-japan-fukushima-famous

yikes!

Seems the rumors of the severely contaminated water going past the barriers and into water reservoirs.. were true.

And its not just flowers...

So sad. What tech has done to the environment. We have multiple nuc plants up this way. Knowing this could happen is scary as all heck. So what do they start doing, Frack'n. I do feel badly for the children brought into the world of tomorrow. We are leaving them ticking disasters. Poor things.

How fun. My Mom is and was a . She threw just about everything out. She lacks sentiment. I guess because of that I saved more than I should have of my kids childhood. I have stuff........

Just need to be careful.

Because sometimes the stores clerks DO abuse from clients who dont know anything about tech (and sell them stuff they never needed)
If you're going to buy tech and you're not a tech person, Best Buy tends to be better because their salespeople are salaried, not commissioned, so they're going to try to sell you stuff you might not need, because they might get fired otherwise, but they're not exactly sleazy salespeople. I've always liked the two Best Buys I go to (one more so than the other, though). At some stores, when their livelihood is dependent on selling you stuff, they'll try to sell you more than you actually need. Best Buy is going to have less pushy salespeople, though.

I was in a rather bad car accident and even with set belts on both knees slammed into the dash. So between that and a few sports injuries over the years my doc said to get it done and I'm happy I did. They're almost like new :)I've had both knees scoped. One more than once. I think they are now worth more than my house:hilarious:

Oy. The first year I was married my DH the softball ball player he was ripped out both his ACL completely and totaled the cartilage. I think we were out 20K but fortunately back in the day we could have dual insurance and mine was better than his so most of that knee replacement was covered but the various surgeries were over 100K back then.

Hope your knees keep holding up!

Well, I'm exhausted. Will have to catch up on the tech talk tomorrow. Although my brilliant plan of staying home tomorrow won't happen. Cat needs to get her shots updated, and guess when I have time to do that? She's laying here not suspecting a thing...just purring and purring...

Then I have to wash the car, make some phone calls, do something for school (it's chasing me!), and some other stuff that I don't particularly feel like doing but that I have to do. At least I get to sleep until 10. I'm over my jet lag, fyi.
