I'm still confused about this whole thing. I tought that all exposed bridged had now some sort of barriers to prevent this after the massive collapse of the very longspan bridge in florida? I remember they added a ton of barriers in that bridge and its twin after it collapsed. (I think it was the Tampa bridge collapse in 1980

But in this case it seems some of the barriers made the ship veer straight into the bridge structure? the turn was hella confusing.
Those poor people driving on it who had no chance to react x_x
