He won’t. He goes to Kings Island and takes breaks when he starts hurting, either seeing a show and then eating, or just sitting outside.
Wilderness Lodge. Any way you can just do a long weekend with T. I really think that while your family thought they were doing a favor for you by giving T a fun vacation, there was no consideration given to you. You are just the mother.

We survived grocery shopping. YEA, I think:hilarious: Seeing we're having a BBQ this weekend it's a miracle because we got the regular shopping and party shopping done. At least 30 pounds of meat for the bbq alone, not to mention the bushel of broccoli, one of potatoes, one of peppers, 15 pounds of tomatoes, 24 heads of lettuce, 15 or 20 cucumbers, 10 pounds of onions...…………………………………………... Please somebody, anybody swap food bills with me
I couldn’t imagine.

Dh and I had a mini date at the Hard Rock Hotel. We checked the weather app on my phone and all we saw was red globs headed our way. We did some massive power walking to get back to City Walk to catch the bus to our hotel. As soon as we got off the bus, the skies opened up. We had just made it. Sadly our date was short, but I got my power walk in. :hilarious:

That kid can never take a bad picture, you know? ;) And Poppa has quite the sense of style with the headband with ears! :joyfull:

By the way, I'm seeing more hair. I recall my grandmother telling me that hair grew faster in the summer, due to all the sunlight. (I don't believe that, I'm just mentioning it here though. :p)

Thanks so much, Minnie...!!! :)
Yep, Poppa is proud of those ears...!!!!! :hilarious:
Hahaaa...!!!
Don’t think I’ve ever heard that before, but, it makes sense. If she’s out in the sun for any length of time though, her head is covered. But, if not, it’d probably be really bushy with the “summer” where finally havin’...it’s already hotter than the surface of the sun at 11a...and high 90’s with triple digit heat indexes predicted for the next 10 days...!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious::D;):)

We loved AoA but it is a LOT of walking. Like... a LOT. The best you could hope for is a room request for one of the closer buildings, but even then it's a LOT of walking. Consider too that ALL the bus stops are way out in Narnia. The walking at the resort itself wouldn't be so bad if you were able to get a room close to the lobby, but he's going to be hurting just getting to and from the bus stops.

We stayed at AoA in 2 family suites in the Cars section for our week-long trip in July of ‘12, about a month after that section opened.
Interior hallways and all. The whole area was REALLY well-done to Cars...!!!!!
It was really nice for us, and we were very close to the main building. Don’t remember the bus stops bein’ too far away.
The food court was great, although we only ate there 2 times. For lunch one day I had the “Surf ‘N’ Surf Burger”...a huge crab cake sandwich with a bunch of fried shrimp piled on top...!!!!! :hungry:
But, yes, that was over 7 years ago, and the only other section open was Nemo, which opened before Cars.
No Lion King or Little Mermaid yet.
Also, not only were the room prices much lower then, I also had my 60% CM resort discount...!!! :)
Unfortunately, when we went to book it again for our June of ‘13 trip, there was a CM discount blackout, and the prices were way too high beyond that. We were plenty happy to get my discount at ASMusic, which we had stayed at before, then again (no discount, as I was no longer a CM) on our whirlwind Feb. of ‘16 Princess 5K trip...!!! :)
Bottom line...
We’d love to stay there in the Cars section again someday, but, it’s way overpriced in our opinion, and from what I’ve heard pretty crowded these days.
It sure was nice to have stayed there once, though...!!!!!

Seconding this.
AKL is a very LONG resort and it involves quiet a bit of walk just to leave the room towers.
Plus unless you're lucky to score a close to the lobby area. You will walk a lot, then walk a bit more to the bus stop.

I think the walk is akin from walking from Port Orleans Riverside farthest rooms towards the lobby and then to the bus stop.

I believe she was actually talking about Art of Animation...? 🤔 :)

I miss the original SoTB billboards. They even published a book with all of them. Seemed like one every two miles headed north and heading south for a hundred miles and even a couple before then. It was a less politically correct world back then and so many of those signs were absolutely hilarious. I'm afraid the SoTB is rightfully dying on the vine. Not much to draw anyone there more then once. When the restroom charged money to use a stall it fell out of my happy place picture. Especially since if you went about two miles past heading south you got to the SC Visitors station and two miles north was the NC Visitors station. I used to stop on the way through because they had a good price on a big bag of raw peanuts in the shell. I'd buy a bag and then when I got home I roasted them in the oven and munched on them for months. Then my body aged and decided to transfer peanuts into body fat, so I stopped getting them.

These are the ones we always used to see for miles and miles each way on our road trips from No Cal to Texas and back every summer all those years ago...!!!!! :hilarious:
