Maybe just downsize the hotel or cut one day to have more points for meals, etc. I’ll check availability in the morning.

So sorry for you two. It’s been some big ups and downs for you two. I hope Brian will be able to find a position that appreciates him.

As for your trip, do what is best for you. You have a cabin at Fort Wilderness booker right? Well you could make some meals there to save some money. And since you drive things could be made at home and reheated there so you don’t spend your vacation cooking. And just treat yourself to eating out once a day. Just a thought. It does sound like you guys need some sort of relaxing and time in a fun space together so keep that in mind too.

We went a few years ago but we stayed on the beach at the Hilton for a couple nights. It was further down the beach and it was nice not crowded but I didn’t pay attention if there was public access.

Seconding the above, @Tony the Tigger . From an objective viewpoint here, I'm (almost) half wondering if he's just better off away from that company. It doesn't sound like they're the best company to work for. Still, sorry to hear that Brian lost his job, and also that it puts the both of you in tough financial shape.

Once he gets over the shock and loss, I'm sure he'll start looking again. He has some good experience (from what you've shared with us), and he should be able to get another position elsewhere. (Tell Kylie to give him extra kisses to help him get through this setback.)

Not sure, as I don't know anyone who's actually been to the beaches there. But I do recall reading hat the beaches there are very popular. Have you tried to Google any "reviews" of the beach areas?

I am checking out trip advisor. I thought it would be fun to go on the beach and then maybe watch the cruise ships at Port Canaveral from a restaurant.
Originally we thought we would go to Clearwater on the Gulf, but that is a 2 hour ride on I-4. Cocoa is only an hour.

But Clearwater and St. Pete Beach have the beautiful Sunsets... we love it on that side!

I'm so sorry this happened!! I think you should still take the trip, because the sadness and shock of losing your job needs to be countered with something. Hopefully he can recover and find something new quickly.!!

@donaldtoo I just wanted to say that it's really special how supportive you are of your DD and her vegan cooking. When I make a vegetarian dish that's amazing, most of my friends/family say things like "I wouldn't eat that" or "that would be delicious with some chicken in, then I'd eat it!!"

So good on you for being supportive, telling her it looks yummy, and knowing you, for eventually trying it. You're a good man.
