That is not the only area. In the part of Wisconsin I am from, Public high schools had their first day of school today according to the news.

Thankfully I graduated many years ago. In my time as a student, School started after Labor Day or around the final week of August depending on the year. I don't completely understand this for any part of Wisconsin considering Wisconsin has 4 seasons.

Summer is supposed to be tourism season for Wisconsin. The best way to put it is I know I know a couple places gets their peak of tourism during the summer. I am referring to Wisconsin Dells and Door County. Wisconsin Dells are known for their water parks and some of those water parks are outside. Outside Water Parks in Wisconsin are open from May to September only.

The school system is taking a chance of 90 plus degree day in schools that don't have air conditioning at all or if the school does, it is the bottom floor only.

Those schools must have a special permission to start before Labor Day , as far as I know the law is still September 1. I know that sports can start practices and even have games before September 1. Our teams started practice last week.

Yes, we have inspections. As I posted earlier, it’s a combination inspection/registration sticker. The car has to pass inspection before you can re-register it every year.
An inspection is good for the inspection/registration sticker for up to 90 days, but, there is only a 5-day grace period after the sticker expires...! :)

Yep, we loved having our kiddos around then and, obviously, still do...!!!!! :happy:
Wether it was summer or the school year, we tried to do stuff with them as much as was reasonably possible.
Of course, we all need our “alone time” now and then, but, if they were gone longer than an overnight at the grandparents or a friends house (like Girl Scout Camp) we, of course, also missed them...ahhhhh, parenthood...!!!!! :happy:

No inspections here in Florida!

When I first moved here, I believe it was emissions only. Jeb got rid of that.

Fine by me.

Well, here we go again. I hate making posts like this.

Brian got let go today. Yes, from the new position he just got promoted to. Benefits didn’t even kick in yet. (Ironically, if he’d kept his old position this wouldn’t have happened.)

He’s taking it pretty hard. I’m pretty concerned as well. He was already out of work for a couple of months with the eye surgery and was just catching up. I’m stretched thin after moving the store.

Considering canceling our little WDW trip in two weeks, although it actually wouldn’t save a whole lot since most of it was covered by Chase points. Still, seems kind of irresponsible.

Maybe just downsize the hotel or cut one day to have more points for meals, etc. I’ll check availability in the morning.

We used to start after Labor Day when I was a kid in NY. We finished at the end of June. I do prefer that because then you actually get a summer vacation. That’s just me.

Oh no. I am so terribly sorry. 😔😔😔 This is just awful. He just got the promotion. It makes no sense and just as it seemed everything had fallen into place. There is no way he can get his old job back? Prayers that a door has opened somewhere for him.
