I'm not sure of the laws in NJ.... but they are a sticky state, so I can't be sure. Usually it goes in order... does the driver have insurance, No? Does the owner of the car have insurance? Yes.. and you are giving her expressive permission to borrow your car, so I believe she would be covered. (but PLEASE don't take my word for it, all insurance companies are different)
Thanks again :)

Ok. I will do the obvious thing and ask my actual local Allstate rep☺...yet thanks for your feedback😉
So I quickly left school for 20 minutes and took care of adding my daughter to our policy.
My wife and I have car insurance with Allstate that runs 6 months and then renews. Our current policy was (and still is) due to end June 20th. So, although my daughter is added on as of 10 minutes ago....we will not have to pay the new price until June 20th when our next 6 month cycle begins. How did I do summarizing that?
Does that make sense, or is it clear as mud?

It sounds like your agent did the endorsement to officially add your daughter as of June 20th. But he did originally tell you that you had to add her within 30 days, so it may be assumed coverage from now until june 20th

Seems like a fun idea until they are fifteen minutes late coming home and you start imagining a million terrible things that may have happened. However, I'm sure she is happy and should be. 🤔

BTW, those ice and snow seasons up north last a lot longer then 3 or 4 months.

Yep, once they start takin' the car out on their own, it's just one more thing for a parent to worry about... 🤔
But, cell phones now make checking in a bit easier than having to pull over and find a payphone somewhere...!!! ;)

Yikes!!!
3 or 4 days would be more than enough for me...!!!!!!!!!!! :eek:o_O:D

SHE ;):cool:told me in today's e-mail:
""Steven I will add her today, but the change will be effective 6/20/19 which is the policy renewal. Yes she can drive your two cars. Yes she is covered....BUT I need TODAY her d/l, date of birth as well as a copy of her most recent report card and the certificate of completion from the 6 hour driving school course."

Yep.... exactly! Incentive for her to keep her grades up.... it gets you a slightly better rate mostly likely since she's asking for it. I don't know if we have that at my company.

Sorry I automatically say HE because it's a hugely dominant men's career. I know better!

That's exactly how my job is... I've had a lot of down time in the past couple of months... today everyone and their brother brought me a stack of work... so now I have something to do... but it's hard to get motivated when you've had so much down time!
Yeah, I hear ya. Yesterday I was busy in the morning and it was hard to get motivated. Last week was dead. I read five books in one week. I had nothing going on and I'd read all of our pages on the intranet and watched a bunch of training videos, and I asked my boss if he had more work for me, and he was like nope, so...

Our fiscal year also just started in April, so things are slow for that reason too.

Good! Now you won't have to worry about her being covered.

And you have time before your policy renews to switch to Geico.
I'm kidding.

I can't read or knit at my desk... so I did all the things you did... took my continuing education courses to keep my license (which is not due until Sept 2020) read all our intranet stuff.... asked my co-worker if she needed help... and read lots of Trip Reports to look busy!
