Someone at work needs a root canal and a crown = cost $1500 with insurance

Ah that sweet smell of everyone for their own capitalism (sarcasm)
I think he will have everything cheaper if he takes a flight to PVR or Cancun and get the medical procedure done here.
Funny thing.. I've seen a ton of doctors from overseas moving here because they are hemorrhaging customers with the insane prices caused by the insurance costs of USA.

Today was an election day here, state supreme court, our town board and school board. The only office that had an opponent was the state supreme court so I knew the polling place wasn't going to be busy but hubs insisted that we got there 10 minutes early. Besides the workers we were the only ones there, another voter did show up as I was leaving. So I got to be voter number 1! Some of the polling workers actually cheered a little when we walked in because they had a bet going on as to who would show up first and some people placed their bets on us!😃

I watched a bit of it and noticed the same thing. I also noticed a few of the caddies were wearing shorts and t-shirts.
It was cool this weekend, but, nowhere near what I would call cold. I wore short sleeves all weekend.
This morning, on the other hand, we shattered the record for our coldest morning temp at the airport for this date from 1970, which was 38 degrees...it got down to 32 degrees this morning. Still TSSFFBR weather ;), but, pretty cool for us this time of year...! :)

I hope you enjoyed your lovely 32 degrees this morning. You always get hot, uncomfortable temps so this must have been a real treat!

On another matter, I don't watch golf, but realized what a big tournament it was down in Austin. Last weekend was also the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500, NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway. So that's two major sporting events in Texas last weekend. :jawdrop: Must be a popular state. ;)

I just had them do the panorex because it had been seven years since they did the first one. The dentist (not mine, someone else in the practice) told me they had to come up within the year. I asked why several times and the answer was, "Because they might cause a problem." Might? So they're not currently? It took several tries before he finally admitted they weren't causing any problems. Mine are not erupted at all. Considering my brother's just erupted, I very seriously doubt they will. So I'll just continue having them watched. I don't need another surgery right now.

When they're impacted in tissue, it's not as bad. When they're impacted in bone, that's more serious. When I was about 20, I had all 4 out at once. They were impacted in tissue. From the time they put me under, it took the surgeon about 15 minutes and it was all done!

I'm torn... between yesterday and today... root canal and off work, or today... work. Both are painful!
I know something that is even more painful. Having dental insurance, but doesn't cover the work that needs to be done. What makes that even worse is the specialist expects it to be paid in full all at once:jawdrop::(.

Back when I was growing up, my parents had dental insurance that did not cover bridge work. I am mentioning this because my mom had to get bridge work done when I a kid with dental insurance that didn't cover it. All I'm will to saying the specialist expected my parents to pay all of it at once.

You don't want to know the cost of the normal price of bridge work because it was enough for doing 2 or 3 WDW trips in one year at the time at least.

Keep in mind this was a specialist that bragged about having a sports car collection.

I wonder, how different is the book compared to the movie?
with all the drama I wasnt very keen on buying the books.
And I got all the collection in hardcovers of the original HP.
It's the screen play I just read to try and figure out some of what I missed in the movie. So it was the movie word for word and @Songbird76 and @MySmallWorldof4 and yourself should give it a read. It didn't clear anything up but it did:hilarious:

Oh, I'm well aware of dental costs. Spent thousands of dollars through the years on all kinds of treatments. (No implants though--those freak me out.) :jawdrop:

The dental plan I have at work covers 50% of major things. It's capped at $2,000 a year though.

Oh I'm not complaining about my insurance. The specialist who did the root canal did expect my co-pay to be made immediately as well.

Dental insurance isn't even worth it for me. I get routine cleaning, x-rays (normally, not this year) and that's it. My parents had a sealant put on my teeth when I was a teenager, so I rarely get cavities. Good teeth just run in my family. Never even needed braces growing up.

Hahaaa...!!!!! :hilarious:
It actually ended up warming up to 72, and is currently 62...!!! :)
And again, I wore a short sleeve shirt and no coat to work...!!! :D:)

Yep, Texas seems to be quite popular these days ;), and folks just keep on flockin’ this way!!! :)
The states population as of last year was 28.7 milllon, whereas 20 years previous it was 19.7 million.
Just for comparisons sake, Massachusetts’ population last year was 6.9 million, up from 6.1 million 20 years previous.
Granted, Texas is wayyyyy larger than Massachusetts, but, a population increase of 9 million over 20 years is still pretty crazy...!!!o_O:cyclops:;):)
