A few years back I had a girlfriend that just couldn't stop talking about Schlotzsky's. We didn't have one in Vermont, but on a vacation trip she spotted one down here in the south (this was before I moved down here) and we had to stop. We ordered and she was like in 7th heaven about how great it was. I tried mine and although it was OK, there was nothing about it that appealed to me at all. I have one about a mile from my apartment. I have been here almost 8 years and have never once been tempted to go there. I guess everyone experiences things differently, but, I really was not impressed. It seemed dry and way to chewy to me.

That's not unusual with a chain. They're (probably) franchise owned/operated, and some are better than others.

I may have mentioned this before but dh's family does a trash to treasure gift, each year we head out and find something that's been gently used for each person on our list. Over the years we've found and received some impressive items such as a vintage watch, Craftsman tools, a few Disney items and a few other fun finds.

Wow--that is a cool idea!!!

I've never ben to 5 Guys:eek: In my defense back when subs and/or burgers were gotten from a family run place.

Believe it or not, I've never been to one either. There is one a town away, but they don't open until around 11:30, and on a Saturday, I'm out early doing stuff and then go home--to do more indoor stuff. Hence, I have no desire to go back out at 11:30, to travel someplace just for a burger . . . :cautious:

We use to have a few here, but apparently no one understood your ex girlfriends love for them either... They all closed. There was one thing I did really like on the menu... it was a simple roast beef sandwich with melted cheese and sour cream.
