I was sad when Wishes left, but understood why. When I watches Wishes and then HEA on YouTube, HEA is so much better.
HEA is the most amazing fireworks show I've ever seen. It's impossible to know where to look when watching it. The soundtrack is still my favorite.
noone disagrees that its 20 years old. But even after 20.. it wasn't exactly the same for 20 years. It evolved a few times, they added stuff.. changed things.
Still, my complain was about those who wanted the show being shunned because others think it was "boring beyond belief".
When it premiered, it was amazing. I remember watching it for the first time when I was four. It's one of my earliest memories. I remember we were all blown away by it. It was easily the best fireworks show at the time.

But over the years, it just hasn't aged well. I think that was evident to us back in 2009 when we saw Disneyland's fireworks, which get updated every other year and rotated seasonally. They were much better. Then when we went back in 2013, we were like, "Okay, why are Wishes and Illuminations still here?" Then in 2016, we were like, "Okay, now this is flat out ridiculous." And then along came the original Star Wars fireworks (when it was straight fireworks to music) and that completely blew away Illuminations.

I've seen Illuminations so many times that I can tell you exactly where they've made changes over the years and can visualize the scenes on the globe from memory (this is also because Epcot is my dad's favorite park and we end up over there most evenings and we end the night either by watching Illuminations or going to Soarin'; depends on how tired we are. By comparison, I still have not seen RoL). It was innovative at the time, but it's just time for it to go.

I'm excited for the new show. I think Epcot Forever will be neat in the interim, and then the new show will be great. Most people are whining because Illuminations had no IPs in it and this new one will. I couldn't care less. It's one of my opinions probably considered unpopular.

A few years back I had a girlfriend that just couldn't stop talking about Schlotzsky's. We didn't have one in Vermont, but on a vacation trip she spotted one down here in the south (this was before I moved down here) and we had to stop. We ordered and she was like in 7th heaven about how great it was. I tried mine and although it was OK, there was nothing about it that appealed to me at all. I have one about a mile from my apartment. I have been here almost 8 years and have never once been tempted to go there. I guess everyone experiences things differently, but, I really was not impressed. It seemed dry and way to chewy to me.

I know.
You’ve posted about it before.

That doesn't surprise me, I do a lot of things that I don't always remember doing. I don't really think it should be a problem though, it's just an anecdote. When you get my age there is a good chance that you will start repeating yourself too. ;)

No worries...I have been known to do that myself at my young age... :cyclops:
I just thought you might want to know...! ;)

I repeat myself and I'm not your age.

I chalk it up to an early sign that I am slowly but surely turning into my mother. She'll tell you the same story five times and forget that she'd told it to you. Now people have pointed out I do the same thing and I'm like, well then...:hilarious:

Good for you! That's great. (I had to order a few things online, and cash wasn't an option in a few instances.) They were some perishable food items for hubs' family out-of-state.
I forgot, dh did order 1 thing off the web. Me I went to stores and a few yard/garage sales, library used book sale and a couple of craft fairs. I may have mentioned this before but dh's family does a trash to treasure gift, each year we head out and find something that's been gently used for each person on our list. Over the years we've found and received some impressive items such as a vintage watch, Craftsman tools, a few Disney items and a few other fun finds.

O.k. So the tree decorating frolics continued tonight. First, I watered the tree, but missed the side of the stand and water spilled out on the floor. Hence, I watered the floor. :p

I found one box of bulbs, and put them up on the tree. But only the top half of the tree has bulbs, because I can't find the 2nd box of bulbs that I put away last year. ;)

So, the tree has the lights turned on and bulbs on the top half. If I can't find the 2nd box of bulbs, do you think anyone will notice that there arent' any on the bottom half? :hilarious:

Oh, by the way, the dog still hates the tree! :joyfull:
Poor Jack, maybe give him a nice large streak before you start decorating.
