All right, wish me luck this holiday season guys. First year doing the holidays without my family due to being no contact (my choice). Too much stupidity and drama and stupid drama. My family thrived on this and my sanity and happiness couldn't take this anymore.

I'm already receiving IMs from family members about what I am missing with pictures of food and laughing emojis.:banghead::rolleyes:
I don't know about IMS, but i'm guessing there has to be a block feature. What you are dealing with your family is block worthy with the pictures of food and laughing emojis they send you. What your family doing is harassment in my book.

It is either block them or stop being on IMS until the holidays are over.

While they’re often marketed interchangeably (most likely because of a somewhat similar appearance), the truth is, yams and sweet potatoes are very different root vegetables.
According to Chef Marc Bauer, master chef at the International Culinary Center, a yam is characterized by dark and sometimes rough skin, though the flesh is whiter in shade and dry. “Yams require more oil, cream, or butter when cooked and are generally more starchy than the modern sweet potato,” Bauer says. They’re also grown all over the world. Roast them with other veggies for a delicious side dish, dice them up into a hearty yam stew, or, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, try a batch of candied yams coated in butter and brown sugar.
Sweet potatoes on the other hand, have a lighter skin, with tapered ends, and a light yellow to deep orange flesh. First introduced to the U.S. many decades ago, sweet potatoes have a naturally sweet taste (hence the name). As a result, you won’t have to add as much butter, oil, or cream in order to enjoy them, says Bauer. And when it comes to recipe ideas, the possibilities are endless: Try sweet potato fries, mashed sweet potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, or loaded baked sweet potatoes (to name a few). 😄😄😄
I am sorry, but that is still sweet potatoes. Therefore, it shall not pass my lips. 😋

So I went to Walmart this morning to pick up some things I had realized we needed. I went to the produce aisle, and one of the workers was filling shelves. She saw me looking at the area where they keep the pre-packed lettuces and said that if I was looking for the mixed greens, that they were in the recall and removed. But they still had romaine heads available. I asked about that and she said that they had the recall list and the heads were not in the recall. Weird. I didn't get any though just in case. I did pick up a Disney gift card for our May trip. I went to put it in the Disney gift card website and guess what? I still had $271 on one of our gift cards from May! I thought it was empty. I love when that happens, like when you find $20 in a pair of jeans.:)

Whoa. She had a recall list? I heard once again on this evening's news, that there has been NO recall, still a warning from the CDC--as they still cannot locate the source of the contamination. The warning advised against any and all romaine, including organic.

The news reporter made this fact clear -- until the CDC knows the source, they cannot issue a recall.

So I'm baffled by whatever information that woman had at your store. Glad you didn't buy any. :cautious:

Awww you guys are so sweet! Thanks @BuddyThomas for letting everyone know I'm doing OK. Still not divorced, but otherwise good. I don't have my daughter for Thanksgiving, but at least I have her back on Friday for the rest of the weekend. We actually have a court hearing next Thursday and hopefully we might be able to at least get the divorce finalized, but still need to figure out spousal and child support. My ex has been somewhat quieter in regard to correspondence lately, but his plan to get as much money out of me (and my mom) is quite literally insane. I honestly believe he simply does not want to be divorced. Because before it was never about the money, it was all about custody, but then when he didn't get what he wanted, now it's about the money. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Anyway, I'll be spending Thanksgiving with my boyfriend and his kids, as well as having lunch with my mom and siblings. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and is doing well! I will try to ketchup a bit but I know I'm waaayyyy behind!

Wonderful to hear from you, catmom46!! :cat: You've been missed around these parts.
