That has happened here were I live. We have what was at one point a huge mall area. There was the main building, massive parking lots, and dozens of businesses, food places and banks in a radius of about 2 miles around the main building. The interior was really nice and when I moved here about 8 years ago, the place was full. Then something happened. You can't tell it by my bank account but this town is a very affluent area. But, one by one the stores started to close up. Some people say it was because the mall company decided to do huge rent increases. They got to overestimating the malls draw. There was another huge mall just 6 miles from this area and was in the city outskirts of Raleigh. One by one stores left. The first big one was Sears, followed by Macy's. They were both gigantic stores and the knocked the wind out of it. Now there are about 1/4 of the businesses in the circumference of the building and at least a 50% reduction in the number of stores inside the mall. Many that remain aren't even retail. They are just locations for special interest groups to meet. No retail sales involved with them at all. It is falling apart. Very little Maintenance is being done. There are small seating areas scattered in the mall, and, last week I noticed one where a drink cup sitting on a table with popcorn all around it on the floor, etc. I first noticed it Sunday and when it got to Friday everything was still in the same place, the cup, the popcorn... all of it.That's disappointing re. the Simon Mall. In general I hate to see any business I've frequented close. What I'm about to say is not a retail store, but something my wife and I have been using went out of business: a streaming app called: "DramaFever". They were up and running for 9 years and just recently shut down their streaming business.
We really haven't had a change of color here so far this year. Some of the trees that were the most colorful apparently were the weakest and after a quick visit from Florence and Michael all the leaves were gone before they even turned colors. I don't really miss it all that much, I overloaded on it during all my years in Vermont and driving on roads covered with leaf peepers rubber necking and not paying attention to driving, I am cursing a lot less.Yeah ours are almost gone. We had our first frost and 29 this morning!
I also feel sad when a business goes out of business. People put their heart into small businesses. That's disappointing re. the Simon Mall. What a very pink coach. Beautiful sunset! The food looks delicious and I love their plates. We had a pretty but cool weekend cleaning up leaves, going out for Mexican food, and shopping yesterday.
We saw the Barbie coach at Walmart and thought of the one we saw at MK one day.
The sunset was awesome! View attachment 321483View attachment 321485View attachment 321486View attachment 321488
Oh yeah! Forgot about him. What about Tralfaz (“Ralfaz”)...?
Sympathy like. It was 33 by me. You must be in a mountainous area then.Yeah ours are almost gone. We had our first frost and 29 this morning!

When we used to visit Raleigh, we would stop in a mall on route 1 that was north of the city. It was huge and had a children’s play area. Is that still a “living” mall? That has happened here were I live. We have what was at one point a huge mall area. There was the main building, massive parking lots, and dozens of businesses, food places and banks in a radius of about 2 miles around the main building. They started to have a revision last summer when they sold some of the East end part of the mall and a huge parking area just outside to Ikea. We are in desperate need of one on this end of the state and this was a good location close the the main interstate (I-40) very close with it's own exit and everything. Something happened and after a number of stores were forced to move to another end of the mall, the deal fell through. No one knows what happened, but, I believe it is the final nail in the coffin. At the rate it has been failing I wouldn't be surprised to see the entire area closed by the end of next year.

The hurricane isnt the problem, the storm surge might be. Local forecaster who is a friend of mine.. fear a repeat of the infamous hurricane Kenna.Oh dear. I saw something about that on the news this morning. The hope is that it loses some steam by the time it hits land. Let's hope.
I suddenly crave enchiladas! D:We had a pretty but cool weekend cleaning up leaves, going out for Mexican food, and shopping yesterday.

Apply "blur more" to the money, bags and rifles that you added to the front guys, do not blur the front guys any more..I fixed that. In fact, I used a pic of myself as that guy! https://www.deviantart.com/admachine/art/The-Big-Venture-Bank-Hiest-769383023

That's a great surprise! Never did Halloween time there.Ok so I’ve poured over our schedules, There’s no way that we can make it to Cedar Point this year without driving all night for me to arrive in time for work.
T is off school this Friday, I don’t have childcare.. figured we’d take a quick trip somewhere. I’d love to do Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, but same as Sandusky with the drive.
So, I booked a quick 2 night stay at GWL near our house.. and we’ll do Halloween Haunt on Friday night again (last time one of the boys didn’t want to do the haunted houses, and I had to buy him a ‘no scare’ necklace for walking around the park)..
I’m going to surprise T when I get him from school on Thursday. We’re going to skip technical training that night too, it’s the only way that I could justify the stay.
He has no idea.
Has anyone done Great Wolf Lodge during Halloween season? Looks like they have trick or treating and a few activities.
Do you have somewhere to go to be safe if it does hit your town? The hurricane isnt the problem, the storm surge might be. Local forecaster who is a friend of mine.. fear a repeat of the infamous hurricane Kenna.
Which hammered downtown and destroyed a biiig part of downtown.
