The waterpark was so overly crowded when we went our last time about 3 years ago. A girl punched my then 8 year old in the face according to my oldest who was right there for no reason. My kid, the then 8 year old, is probably the gentlest girl you will ever meet. She looks like she was plucked out of a fairy patch. She would never provoke anyone. Well we couldn't find who did it and all the lifeguards offered was ice cream. They did have to right up a report on the incident. We packed up after that and drove home. I just didn't want to stay after that and the rest of the family agreed. Haven't been back since.

Oh my goodness, I think I remember you mentioning that last year. How horrible! I don’t blame you for leaving :(

Try Magiquest if you do end up going back.. T loved it. He had a friend come for a few hours on one of our days there, they shared the magic wand and still had a lot of fun. I don’t know if I would buy 4.

Makes sense not to go unless you just pay for the water park.

Yeah, and we have waterpark passes..which we can actually use in the summer. I view GWL as a winter place. T says, “but they have an outdoor pool!” Ok, so does Soak City, 4 of them... you can swim there.

We still haven’t left today. Decided it’s too cold.. the boys wanted to do origami here instead.. leaving soon just to do the rides before soccer.

Yes I can’t wait to see yours!

The house is old. Built in the 70s. T’s bathtub and toilet were both blue.lol The guest bath had a horrid tan, white, and orange tile, in the shower, and the floor, and the walls. T’s bath had white and blue tile on the walls.. All of it was original. Crazy thing is, it was obviously very durable.. I can’t even describe the amount of ugliness. There was wallpaper in T’s bathroom and ceiling.. and the same in the guest one!! CEILING wallpaper, the one in the small bath was this weird thick shiny wallpaper. I had it all removed and then walls (and ceilings) painted when we moved in, but I just kept pushing off the major renovations..finally couldn’t take it anymore. You can’t imagine how happy I will be to not see any trace of blue or orange, or tile on walls!!

We also have brown wood doors and trim in all of the rooms, which I hate. The bathroom redos have made me finally bite the bullet and replace all of the doors in the house as well. I did the front door last month, now all interior doors should be finished in the next few weeks.

Next up- new shutters sometime before winter, and then garage doors eventually.. but I’m going to wait awhile for that. Actually, I should have said next up is replacing mulch and dirt with rocks, front and back.., in hopes of controlling this chipmunk mess.. but I’m too cheap to pay for all of the rocks that I need.lol.
Our trim and doors were off white when we moved in and I prefer bright white. You wouldn't believe how many coats it took to make the off white look bright white. The people who built the house(2004), painted everything with flat paint, so the high gloss we used for the trim did not take well. We were at Sherwin Williams a lot buying paint. It has been 7 years this month that we moved here and now I am looking at the walls and thinking they need painting again.:cautious:

Too cold? It is mid 80's here and sunny. Might have a thunderstorm later.

Haha oh yes a 70s house is full of surprises! Those are the same colors we had in our first apartment. Never used those colors again! :joyfull:We painted all our mouldings white and replaced the brown doors with new white ones. Too much brown! Our house was built in the early 80s. We have practically replaced everything that was original to the house. Houses are a never-ending pocket of expenses! Fun!

Ugh. I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t just put white doors!

Are you thinking of doing a specific room, or all of them?

I only lived in new construction in Florida.. when I moved here I wanted a 100+ year old home.. then was too scared to do it.
Couldn’t afford a brand new home where I wanted to live, bought an older one than I ever would have considered, mostly because of the yard, the newer homes all have much smaller yards here.
Sometimes I regret it. I thought I’d do all renovations right away, but that just wasn’t realistic. New homes are so much easier!.., of course they eventually need work, but at least you get exactly what you wanted at first.

Well my husband painted all the rooms himself and it took weeks to finish. I think that right now I would just do the first floor. With the dogs and cats it might be hard. Right now, it is just a thought in my head.

Sometimes new is not perfect. We settled cause we could afford it but only have one bathroom and the bedrooms are small. I love the big front and backyards though.

Hubby used the easy connect kind-shark bite. The other kind you have to use a crimping tool. Wanted something quick and easy. Our DD and SIL first got it when they renovated the 30s house they live in now. We liked how easy it was to do. We have our whole house except for the bathroom finished.
I just saw a picture of it. Silly me, that is what we have in our house. At least it looks like it.

Before I was married, I used to change my paint, throw pillows, and a few accessories way too often in my living room and bedroom. I’d just get in a mood and do it.. I actually painted myself too. It was relaxing... for about 10 minutes, then I just wished it was over. Lol

It’s so crazy to me that all this new construction is going up.. $450k+ homes, all with teeny tiny yards!! I understand it in Florida, but not here.. there’s no reason to put houses on top of eachother in Ohio!

I don’t want to sit on my back deck and stare into someone else’s house.
