So does ours. I paid $6.50 on Saturday for the first show. Not too bad. No snacks were bought which is usually the biggest expense.

We get the refillable popcorn. I bring a large ziploc bag and put the popcorn in it for me. And before the movie starts hubs goes and gets a refill for him. Originally hubs was embarrassed of my ziploc bag, but I pointed out that they offer and actually have encouraged us to buy the large to share and refill. It isn't like I fill bags worth of popcorn to take home! Although I am a bit of a sneak, I usually take in my own bottle of water.

No shame in taking advantage of what management offers. ;)

It will be done before you know it and it will look fabulous!

Thanks. I’m super nervous about the tile in this shower as well, this one will have a tub though.
I don’t want another set back. It’s all the original tile from when the house was built.. I guess they thought no one would ever replace it. Definitely durable, but hideous. I went back and forth so much with the company, the original plans were to tear up all walls and floors.. but I do understand that they just couldn’t do the 2 stupid shower walls. They technically could have, but I wasn’t willing to take the risk of more problems as a result. Fingers crossed for today.

I know one thing, this is the first and last time that I will ever buy an older home.

We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge before and a Holiday Inn.

Out of curiosity, what type of room do you have to get there. Can you do a den suite, or do you need the larger “bear” (I think that’s the name)?

T wants a birthday party at GWL so badly. Their prices are too ridiculous, so I’ve considered just doing one of the large suites which include 6 wristbands, and I think 2 more can be added for $50 each. That way he could bring 6 friends, and I could just invite another adult for the day. It comes out a lot cheaper than the designated “party”, and they get a lot more time.

I chose a room that slept 6. I think there was an area with bunks for the kids. We have only been twice. I don’t really like it.

These are the 2 that I’m considering..

He wasnts to go before school starts,( not in one of the above suites), asks almost daily. It’s literally 7 minutes from our house, but has a view and a walking path to Kings Island. We haven’t been in the summer. My issue is that I want 2 days to get our money’s worth! And I hate to waste 2 days in Cincinnati. I’d rather go somewhere else.

Speaking of time management., maybe I shouldn’t have had 2 bathrooms done at once. Lol.

The guest bathroom is ALMOST completed!! It was completely gutted.. not too much more yet.. should be finished Friday.

It’s a tiny bathroom, I hate that the toilet is next to the sink.. but I did what I could.
I went kind of cheep in here.. the contractors couldn’t remove the tile on 2 walls in the shower. They tried, but finally gave up and said it could compromise the structure. It set us back over a week.. ended up having to do something called “bath fitters” in the shower instead of new tile. :(. I’m ok with it though, trying to be anyway.. that restroom rarely every gets used. Overnight guests can deal with it. 😂;)

Here’s the current state of T’s bathroom.😐

Electrician is coming today to rewire. The person who built this home ran way too many lines to the same place. Didn’t realize that until the walls were opened. ... and look at this concrete!!🙄

So, we’re sharing my bathroom right now, which is staying how it is for now... it’s the only non-hideous bathroom in the house.lol. I have a half bath in the basement that needs redone as well, but that’s wayyyyyy down on the to-do list.
The little bathroom looks nice. I like the shower! I can’t wait to see your other one. That concrete looks scary.
We are starting our update too but we are doing it ourselves. I am currently painting the vanity. The floors will be changed, new toilet, and new vanity top. New paint color. DH is currently working on changing copper pipes to pex so it will be awhile until we are finished. It’s the only bathroom we have so doing bits at a time in order to be able to use it.

Thanks! The new doors, baseboards, and trim should be up by the end of the week.
The concrete and tile are both so crazy. The guys said “this house was built with a fear of tornados, nothing could blow it down.” They said they’ve never seen concrete so thick. I have no idea why it’s like that!

That’s awesome that you’re renovating, and I have so much respect for doing it yourself! Hopefully you don’t have inches of tile to tear out! I think it’s really smart to do a little at a time, saves the area from becoming a full on construction zone. I bet your bathroom will look beautiful when it’s all finished! :)

Aww thanks!! We will both have to share pictures when completed. ;)
No tiles for us to remove. I would hate to deal with that. How old is your house? Maybe they concrete thick if it is an old house?

Yes I can’t wait to see yours!

The house is old. Built in the 70s. T’s bathtub and toilet were both blue.lol The guest bath had a horrid tan, white, and orange tile, in the shower, and the floor, and the walls. T’s bath had white and blue tile on the walls.. All of it was original. Crazy thing is, it was obviously very durable.. I can’t even describe the amount of ugliness. There was wallpaper in T’s bathroom and ceiling.. and the same in the guest one!! CEILING wallpaper, the one in the small bath was this weird thick shiny wallpaper. I had it all removed and then walls (and ceilings) painted when we moved in, but I just kept pushing off the major renovations..finally couldn’t take it anymore. You can’t imagine how happy I will be to not see any trace of blue or orange, or tile on walls!!

We also have brown wood doors and trim in all of the rooms, which I hate. The bathroom redos have made me finally bite the bullet and replace all of the doors in the house as well. I did the front door last month, now all interior doors should be finished in the next few weeks.

Next up- new shutters sometime before winter, and then garage doors eventually.. but I’m going to wait awhile for that. Actually, I should have said next up is replacing mulch and dirt with rocks, front and back.., in hopes of controlling this chipmunk mess.. but I’m too cheap to pay for all of the rocks that I need.lol.

Oh no! What don’t you like about it?

Was the room large enough to not feel cramped with 5 or 6 kids in your opinion? We just did the standard family suite when we went.
The waterpark was so overly crowded when we went our last time about 3 years ago. A girl punched my then 8 year old in the face according to my oldest who was right there for no reason. My kid, the then 8 year old, is probably the gentlest girl you will ever meet. She looks like she was plucked out of a fairy patch. She would never provoke anyone. Well we couldn't find who did it and all the lifeguards offered was ice cream. They did have to right up a report on the incident. We packed up after that and drove home. I just didn't want to stay after that and the rest of the family agreed. Haven't been back since.

Makes sense not to go unless you just pay for the water park.
