Sympathy like on high taxes. Our taxes are pretty low and I like that. Since you are settled there I wouldn’t move unless it would really be financially beneficial and if T wouldn’t mind.Yeah, the only way to get new construction and a big yard is to win the lottery, or move to Kentucky.
Kentucky still builds with nice land.. and reasonably priced compared to my side of the river, but I just can’t do it.
I have to admit though, several of my friends have crossed the river.. one family just had their new home completed.. and it’s tempting. The houses and yard are gorgeous.
I grew up with a large yard, but lived in a condo for most of my time in Florida until married..and I was fine with that, but as I was house hunting here, I realized that I wanted T to grow up as I did, with a big yard to run around in. Funny how you don’t think something is important, and then it ends up at the top of the list.
The “city” I live in was basically farmland not too long ago.. now it’s all new developments, new roads that never existed before, great schools, tons of shopping and entertainment.. and high taxes.
Those Cincinnati prices are crazy for what they offer. Kentucky seems very reasonable. Actually think long term how much you could save. But if family is closer to where you are now maybe stay.@93boomer
Here’s the condo popularity, and what I couldn’t believe when I was looking (especially because Greater Cincy is not an “expensive” area!)
Renovated condos downtown-

‘New-ish’ condo in the suburbs..

House, nice size, great yard, right across the river- (it’s actually closer to downtown Cincy than where I am)

Crazy to look at the comparison!!! I think a lot of areas should follow Northern Kentucky’s lead!
Cary was very pretty when we visited about 10 or more years ago. That was when Martha Stewart teamed witg KB homes.Around the Raleigh, Cary, Durham area it is crazy. There is apparently a straight line road from the north to central NC. Damn Yankees, messing everything up. Taxes around here are still low, because there is a bigger population to support all the infrastructure. I swear that more money is spent around here for flowering plants, trees and rose bushes then some states spend on highways. I remember up north charity groups selling small bunches of daffodils because you never saw many of them sticking up through the snow. Here, entire interchanges are just big fields of daffodils. Many more things are available with increasing populations, however, you are stuck with the people. That is the downside.
May you get lots of rain. Not too much but enough
FTFYMay you send me lots of rain.loads and loads please.
ThneedI started reading this book. It is really fascinating to learn about the creativeness and detail that is in each park. DH is reading it too. He already says that we are carrying it with us on our next trip to see how many things he can find that he didn’t know were there. View attachment 301646
I saw most of the movies before I read my first book. I think even James read most of them before I did. I guess that's why I don't mind the changes as much as those that read them firstThose are so good! I read all of them when my DD finished. I loved all the movies too.
CageFTFY
FTFYThank you for correcting my mistake. Let me bake you a cake.

Yes, indeed... Cary, besides being the Containment Area for Relocated Yankees, prides itself on it's aesthetics. The money spent on beautification is mind boggling, but, it does make for a very pleasant area to live in. It does have some very high priced areas and some ghetto areas (where I live), but, even those are nicer the some of the best areas in other cities. My problem is if I will be able to afford to live here as I grow older and my opportunity for the necessary income diminishes.Cary was very pretty when we visited about 10 or more years ago.
