I have been hearing about a possible B&N closing for years now. Some have from what I understand, but, not all of them. My theory is that if you sell books, but, your business plan is to provide comfortable chairs for people read book that they have for sale for no charge and rely on the sale of overpriced coffee to make up the difference, it seems to me to be very predictable that there is a flaw in the logic someplace. And the price on the books tend to make it more likely to be a sit in usage then a pay and carry out situation. That doesn't pay very many bills. It seems similar to if Disney decided not to charge to get in, but, they would like you to buy a t-shirt before you leave. Please! The ones I have been in were full of sitting people, but, I was buying a gift and of the line of 6 registers, I was the only one standing there.
B&N turned into a posh library in the late 80's/early 90's. It truly doesn't make sense to have loads of magazines and then stick some cozy chairs near them. People will read them and then put them back without buying.I have been hearing about a possible B&N closing for years now. Some have from what I understand, but, not all of them. I think Amazon is their big competitor. I agree that Target is expensive for books. The book section is terrible anyway. I used to go back and forth between Amazon and B&N to compare prices. I did drop my B&N membership because we don't have one anywhere near us. It would also take longer to get a book from B&N than Amazon, even with membership. Maybe it is different now?I’m a huge supporter of B&N. Their kids’ club card is fantastic.. their membership card is the only thing that hasn’t gone up in price in nearly 20 years (still $25!).
I find their books to be cheaper than Target.. especially with the membership card, and their super-discounted section is always wonderful! They also great events throughout the year.
I honestly think that a lot of people don’t realize that B&N has many books cheaper than what you’d find at Target, and I think people have a preconceived notion of a hipster clientele.. there is that clientele, but it’s a wonderful bookstore and a great place to spend an afternoon, for all ages. That’s the message they need to get out. I don’t think the company is doing a good enough job with that.

I think if I had a B&N within 15 minutes, like where we used to live I would still use them.I think the $25 membership is one of the best “values” that still exist. Especially when combined with kids’ club

The main problem is- so many people just don’t know. Amazon has adverts everywhere.. B&N needs to do a better job with that.
My. Heart. Is. Breaking.
My son is sobbing uncontrollably in his room. Won’t let me talk to him.
Says he’s never playing soccer again.
Wants to switch schools because he doesn’t want to see his friends.
Worst of all, he said the words “I hate myself. I’m so stupid! Why did I mess up? Why didn’t they take me? It’s because I’m STUPID.” And ran in his room.
I tried to talk to him but think it’s just better to sit in the hallway and give him a moment to cry it out. This is gut wrenching.
The email says that he was wait-listed and may still get on a team, it also said that they recognize his skills, but based on his tryout performance they just couldn’t assign him to a team directly... he is first in line, so I thought that would give him some hope, and I know that he knows he didn’t perform well at tryouts!! 4 kids are waitlisted, the rest just don’t make it.
The coach sent an email as well, said if he doesn’t end up making a team to please try out again in the Fall, and not to let T get too upset, tell him that he can work through these nerves and he will be such a great asset to a team once he does.
That email made T cry even harder.
I hate this. I truly hate this.

love the lanterns of animal kingdomDisney pic time from vacation. Only a few. I know the cheetah picture is bad but it's my first time seeing the cheetahs at Disney. Was soooo happy. And the drivers only stop completely for a few seconds. I love that every time you go in Animal Kingdom, you get a different animal experience every time. (if they're not sleeping).
The bee took a few minutes to get. Buzzing around so much that I couldn't zoom, find the bee and snap a picture but it was taking near the Plaza.

I'm pretty sure they can, but they do not want to put the money they need.Remember that those are F&G pictures. The park looks much different in the summer and fall. I was shocked the first time we went after F&G. It was much less flowery and I realized that they cannot keep those flowers so healthy in the Florida summer heat.
Cats.. who ignore expensive pet beds and somehow prefer somehow the amazon boxes best
