Embarrassing yet great moment tonight-

After practice, T was playing with a couple of remaining kids, and I was talking to T’s coach about an email we all received from the club director, (quick synopsis-all players are going to be observed by different coaches who will now be attending the remaining 3 regular season games, and this will factor into offer decisions after tryouts at the end of the month )... T’s remaining games are two this weekend and one next Sunday, but he was missing both games this weekend due to his first communion.. now we’re going to try and squeeze the first one in beforehand.. but I’m curious if the second absence will hurt his chances at tryouts..

Literally Mid Sentence a Ball Smacks Me In The Face. Broke my sunglasses and my nose is throbbing. Then I hear a “Sorry Mom!”

T’s coach went from super concerned about my face, to letting out a laugh. He said “That boy does have one he** of a kick.” After a few more words of making sure I was ok, and moving to a different area, he said “ He’ll be fine with tryouts, don’t let it bother you in the slightest. I don’t think missing a game will impact him at all.”
Which brought me to my next question..similar to the email I had previously sent.
Coach replied with a ton of great and super encouraging words regarding T, his skill, and that the nerves will fade...and T reminds him of himself at that age after switching to competitive soccer ...and he’s not worried about him at all!

I had ice packs on my face for almost an hour when we returned home, luckily no bruise and nose is not broken! And I don’t want to tell T about this.. but I think T will be totally fine. That conversation was such a relief!!!... almost worth having my sunglasses broken and the mortified moment.. almost. ;)

Edit- Now my phone is telling me to go to bed..I don’t remember setting this up??? I guess I’ll follow the phone’s advice..I think I’ll do one more ice pack while lying down just in case... ;)
The like is for T's skills and a sympathy like for you. At least you'll have a good story to go with the black eye. GWS xoxo

Must be a congested area thing. All the Wegman’s I have ever been in are regular one floor supermarkets. Normal parking lot. Guess we have more room in PA than by you?

I've been to Wegmans in NY, NJ, Pa and Md. and have never seen a multi story one. We always hit one in Maryland on the way home from Florida to grab a meal or snacks for the rest of the ride.

Yah, they built up, instead of out, in my area. Like I said, went there once, walked out after maybe 10 minutes and never went back.

I don't have a problem finding deals in the grocery stores I go to each week. Don't think I ever did.

I have Aldi's, Whole Foods, Dave's (local chain), Shaws and Stop and Shop near me. All of them have their high end prices, some more than others. But I typically try to get everything that is on sale. I didn't like Aldi's the first time I went so I have to go back but they open so late in the morning. 9 AM. I typically go to the market when it opens at 7ish.

I don't really know how people get their food at drug stores. Crazy expensive.

It does feel great when you hear good things about your kid when you have been worrying. Bummer about the glasses and your nose. Pretty funny though. Glad you are ok and your nose isn't broken.:)
