And you're even more shaken up the day afterwards, and feel any pain even more than the first day. Within 24 hours your muscles start to relax (they tighten up in an impact, as a defense mechanism), but once you start to loosen up, you'll be in more pain.
Exactly. When I was still in high school, a car pulled out into my passenger side and ran me off the road. I missed a ditch by a few feet. I ended up with glass in my left elbow. I was so shaken up that I couldn't drive my car for several weeks. My elbow still ached months after.

Sorry, not trying to sound morbid. It was just reminder to me that even if we buy a new car with every feature available, the safety features still aren’t enough to protect us from all scenarios.

Maybe someday it will happen. :)

Not morbid at all. My first thought was that nothing will protect us in life for all possible scenarios. So eat, drink and be merry!

I've been told that a lot of catering companies do not give the leftovers and they use the excuse that it's a safety issue with food storage or something. But we didn't run into that. We had BUCKETS of leftovers. Them closing it down early, coupled by half of our guest list not coming because of Sept. 11th, and we had a LOT of food. It didn't go to waste though....poor college students that my brother's friends were, they didn't mind stepping up and eating something other than cafeteria food or ramen noodles. One heck of an expensive dinner party for us though.

Bit of trivia here--in MA, it's the law that you can't take buffet food leftovers"to go". We have a friend who has been a waitress for almost 40 years, and she said it is to protect the establishments from lawsuits. It comes down to either refrigeration and/or heating temperatures (depending upon the food item), once it leaves the restaurant. (The kitchen staff is instructed to throw out buffet table leftovers.)

Wegman’s. It is a New York based amazing supermarket. A zillion times better than Whole Foods.

Only a zillion?:cautious:

In the past few years, my side of the state had a few Wegmans come in. I don't like Wegmans, because it's a few levels high, and has a parking garage attached to it. I have no desire to shop at a "mall" for groceries. I only like a regular supermarket with it's own regular parking lot. Also, the prices weren't that good. My regular supermarket is way better on prices.

Must be a congested area thing. All the Wegman’s I have ever been in are regular one floor supermarkets. Normal parking lot. Guess we have more room in PA than by you?

Embarrassing yet great moment tonight-

After practice, T was playing with a couple of remaining kids, and I was talking to T’s coach about an email we all received from the club director, (quick synopsis-all players are going to be observed by different coaches who will now be attending the remaining 3 regular season games, and this will factor into offer decisions after tryouts at the end of the month )... T’s remaining games are two this weekend and one next Sunday, but he was missing both games this weekend due to his first communion.. now we’re going to try and squeeze the first one in beforehand.. but I’m curious if the second absence will hurt his chances at tryouts..

Literally Mid Sentence a Ball Smacks Me In The Face. Broke my sunglasses and my nose is throbbing. Then I hear a “Sorry Mom!”

T’s coach went from super concerned about my face, to letting out a laugh. He said “That boy does have one he** of a kick.” After a few more words of making sure I was ok, and moving to a different area, he said “ He’ll be fine with tryouts, don’t let it bother you in the slightest. I don’t think missing a game will impact him at all.”
Which brought me to my next question..similar to the email I had previously sent.
Coach replied with a ton of great and super encouraging words regarding T, his skill, and that the nerves will fade...and T reminds him of himself at that age after switching to competitive soccer ...and he’s not worried about him at all!

I had ice packs on my face for almost an hour when we returned home, luckily no bruise and nose is not broken! And I don’t want to tell T about this.. but I think T will be totally fine. That conversation was such a relief!!!... almost worth having my sunglasses broken and the mortified moment.. almost. ;)

Edit- Now my phone is telling me to go to bed..I don’t remember setting this up??? I guess I’ll follow the phone’s advice..I think I’ll do one more ice pack while lying down just in case... ;)

I've heard a few stories such as that and halls pulling the same thing. I'm sure there's a special place in heck for those that do it intentionally. Glad she at least found a better dress. BTW she's still way too good for you.

Thanks!
And yes, it ain't the first time, and, unfortunately, won't be the last time something like this will happen...I've heard about it several times since, over the years.

As far as that last sentence goes...
I am DEFINITELY aware I did, INDEED, WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY over-marry, and am one darn crazy-lucky dude...!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:

I've been to Wegmans in NY, NJ, Pa and Md. and have never seen a multi story one. We always hit one in Maryland on the way home from Florida to grab a meal or snacks for the rest of the ride.
