Are you cooking the dinner ? :)
I don't know yet because its either my younger brother or I's turn. Although it is My mom's day, my dad automatically wants to cook for my Mom and I know he's grilling the steak for sure. I grew up having two parents that like to cook. My dad grew up cooking in the kitchen and is equal at grilling and cooking. I know he's cutting the mushrooms besides the grilling.

The big thing is frying the mushrooms on the stove since my dad would be doing the grilling. The mushrooms will be in a pan.

The baked potatoes are easy to do due to the microwave.

My dad simply loves to cook and its doesn't matter what holiday it is. My dad does for stuff Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas, and New Year's likes cook meals in the kitchen. The other thing is my dad always loves to cook for my mom like he did years ago when my mom was recovering.

My wedding dress was $400. It was the 2nd I tried on. I was so proud of myself because I also bought it during no tax week in NY. It was empire waisted, satin, had macrame on the bodice. Simple, elegant, classic, and inexpensive. I could never justify a huge price for a dress I would wear once.

DWifeys mother insisted on paying for her wedding dress. Her parents had been divorced for a few years already and her father wasn't in the picture. He didn't even come to our wedding. Her favorite uncle walked her down the aisle.
Anyway, her mother ended up paying for 2 wedding dresses...
DWifey didn't want to spend a lot of her mother's money, but, her mother sure didn't mind. They ended up compromising with something in between for dress 1 at $750. And, that was in '88. :cyclops:
Shortly after they purchased the dress, and before they were to pic it up after some tailoring, the guy who owned the store disappeared with everyone's money. IIRC, there were more than 50 brides to be (or their mothers, etc.) that were ripped-off. It made the local news.
Even with the authorities involved, the only two items they were able to recover were the veil and the slip.
Fortunately, we started planning our wedding almost a year to the day before our wedding day, so there was plenty of time to find something else.
They ended up finding another dress at a shop for $500 that they liked even better than the first one.
Also, fortunately, nothing even remotely close to that crazy happened again during the run up to our wedding day...!!! :)

Here she is in dress 2...!!!!!

For some reason I couldn't quote @Songbird76 . Pizzerias not matter how good just aren't safe for the most part with all the flour flying around. That's why we skipped Blaze and decided to go to PF Chang's instead knowing we had a long day ahead of us the next day. It wasn't worth the risk of having to be up before the sun drive to Kennedy spend the day there then drive into the Carolinas. Note to self make time for longer vacations.

My moms are going down the shore, my dh is going back to nights over the weekend and my MIL may be going to some antique thing. I hope my boys don't give me food poisoning:cautious:

I've heard a few stories such as that and halls pulling the same thing. I'm sure there's a special place in heck for those that do it intentionally. Glad she at least found a better dress. BTW she's still way too good for you.

Sounds like a great system already in place--leave it be, and just enjoy the food!!! :hungry: :joyfull:

I’m just going to put this here, don’t want to start a theological conversation.. Just sharing how my kid overthinks everything, and sometimes I feel like I don’t have adequate answers for him. :cautious:

If he asks those questions to his teachers in Catholic school, then his teachers must love him. My whole thing with religion is you need to have Faith to believe in God. It is very personal for everyone. I think you just say that no one really knows. We can't know everything and there is no answer for everything.
