Oh my, that's gorgeous.

P.S.:
LOL . . . obviously my school's proms were more on the budget plan . . . ;) Ours ended early, too--think they kicked us out around 11:00. (The school probably got a deal with the VFW Post, if we cleared out prior to midnight.)

Back in my day we were definitely on the budget plan too! Too bad about your dress. My dresses for my proms were both short, one a black cocktail type dress and the other was silver. Both were under $80, I think the second one was on sale for $40. Many dresses the girls get now cost between $200 or more! Luckily I got to pick out my dresses, my sister wasn't so lucky. My mom really wanted my sister to wear a long pink dress for prom so that is what she bought her. I guess that was the curse my sister had of being the oldest!

OK, EL (Expedition Laundry ;)) just about conquered...third load in the dryer, and fourth in the washer...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
OK, so back in the day when there were 5 of us in the house that's pretty much what it was, but, ML (Mount Laundry) is probably more appropriate now... :cyclops:
Yes, I actually do laundry.
I just don't post about it much because, well, I figure most men/husbands/fathers do it too...?!?!?!

:hilarious:;)

My husband normally does 95% of our laundry. When he broke his ankle I actually had to do all the laundry, it wasn't too bad, I just hate carrying up and down all the stairs.

Oldest dd got a thank you letter from them for the headbands.

I thought about that too as I was watching. I actually went to their website to see how the process works for volunteering there. I think that might be something I would be interested in doing in the future. There is sadness in the reason why they are there but so much joy and hope, I think it would be very rewarding.

The night concert was a success. The parents were thrilled. Tomorrow I drop my daughter at her high school and off she goes on the "band trip" to Williamsburg VA. She'll not be back 'til 11PM on Sunday. We've only had her away from us for a church youth group over nighter. This one is gonna feel weird....longer than we're used to.
I'm still up posting 'cause my daughter's band trip bus is running behind schedule re. returning the band kids back to their home town. My daughter texted me the students have been told they'll arrive home (actually the HS) at midnight :(

Tomorrow attendance is taken at 7:10AM. In Geometry. A class that she struggles in just to get a 76. A class that she missed Thurs and Fri due to the band trip.
I wish Geometry was at 11:10AM instead of 7:10AM.

Well, that reminds me I need to switch over my laundry. I got busy paying bills and forgot I had a load waiting to go into the dryer and plenty waiting to go into the washer.

Ohhh the moat sounds really pretty! Did you go to high school in the 90s? That’s when my Phantom prom was, and I think a lot of schools did it around that time.

The Egyptian theme and execution does sound pretty horrid. The garden sounds pretty though!
Yep, very 90s!! That one was very pretty. I'll have to see if I can find the pictures of all of the proms. My mom took a ton. Well, not at my boyfriend's prom, because they didn't do a grand march or anything for the parents to take pictures. But, the grand march at our school was a huge event that the entire town showed up for, even if they didn't have kids attending. I remember going every year to see all the kids dressed up and see the decorations.

My first one was a black, off-the-shoulder coctail dress...really cute, and only $50 2nd hand. I was shocked because I didn't think my mom would let me get an off-the-shoulder dress, or one that was short. I had fallen in love with it immediately but didn't even show my mom because I thought she'd say no way. Then she pointed it out and said "What about this one?" I loved loved loved that dress!! My Senior year was not the nicest. I still have it...it was wine-colored velvet. It was a last minute purchase for $40. My boyfriend bailed on me because he had a band gig that night, he said. He lived so far away and he didn't want me to have to drive so far to come to his prom again, and he had a gig on the night of mine. Really, I think he just didn't want to be the jerk to break up with me, so he just made excuses. So by that time, most everyone already had dates, and I'd ask someone that I'd heard was free only to be told they had a date from the next town over. I asked a guy from the speech and debate circuit and he turned me down. Asked another and he agreed, but then canceled when his transportation fell through. So I was without a date until 2 days before. A guy who I'd grown up with had gone to the alternative school in the other town, and since he wasn't a student at our school, he could only go to our prom if he had a date from the school, and he really wanted to go because all his friends went to our school. So we agreed to go together, but that meant I needed a dress. Where do you get a formal dress 2 days before prom?? Technically, I don't think it was considered a formal dress, but it was the closest I could come at the last minute and it wasn't like it was a real date, so it didn't really matter.

@sheriffwoody has volunteered for them a few times and has pictures in her TRs. She might be able to tell you how it works and what kinds of jobs volunteers do, and you could look up the TRs to find out more about what it's like.

Aw.....I feel her pain. I'm surprised they had a school trip on a Sunday! I don't think that was allowed when I was in school. But now I think about it, maybe you could travel on a Sunday, but they couldn't have the event on a Sunday? But I always hated those late nights. I remember getting back from a cheerleading thing at 2:00 am once. How old is your daughter? Do they let the kids into the school to call parents to pick them up or do you have to wait at the school all night for the bus to arrive?
