It’s not too far from downtown Cincinnati at all. I live in Mason OH, which is north of Cincinnati, but still “Greater Cincinnati”... our next game today is in Harrison IN which is actually closer to me than the KY game.

T plays golf in Florence, KY occasionally, which is similar ETA to Wilder, but a little farther mileage wise. Florence, Covington and Newport are about the only places I try to visit in NKY.lol

My brother and sister in law are moving to Mt. Orab soon. They're basically going to have to tell everyone they live in Cincinnati because even native Ohioans have no idea where Mt Orab is :hilarious::hilarious:

Oh no!!!!! I do think a ripped long chiffon gown still probably looked better than my obnoxious completely sequined dresses.lol

Here’s where our proms were.. it’s such a beautiful building. Junior prom was themed to Phantom of the Opera..absolutely gorgeous and perfect. Senior prom was themed to the song Come Sail Away. I actually like the song, but thought it was a stupid choice for a prom theme, especially at a performing arts and opera venue. Oh well. Wish we would have had @ajrwdwgirl ’s students back then!

When my brother was a Junior (I was a sophomore and I was chosen to serve) they did a black, silver, and teal theme....really really pretty. They made a moat and put goldfish in it and you had to cross over a bridge for the grand march. MY junior year was hideous....this one girl basically pushed her agenda to get an Egyptian theme that had a pyramid made of crepe paper and a giant King Tut Mask. Not at ALL elegant or prom-like. And then when I was a senior, they did a Phantom of the Opera theme that was really beautiful, and the glasses they got were soooo cool. They had a sort of gradient effect from glass to silver...it really matched the theme. My junior year, my date was from a town about 7 hours away by car, so I went to his prom and he came to mine. Their theme was something like...in the garden? I just remember it was a lot of flowers and balloons, but I don't remember the actual theme.

Omg they’ll be neighbors with my brother!!!

He moved to Mt Orab about 6 years ago. When he called and told me that he bought a bunch of land out there.. I had to google where it actually was.lol. I came up to visit and drove out there, it’s like a different world!! He has chickens, 4 wheelers that him and his son ride around in on their property, a little lake to fish in.. and his neighbors are not what I’d consider “next door”. I couldn’t do it, but they’re actually happy there. Him and his son both prefer their “farm” over life in traffic and noise.

OK, EL (Expedition Laundry ;)) just about conquered...third load in the dryer, and fourth in the washer...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
OK, so back in the day when there were 5 of us in the house that's pretty much what it was, but, ML (Mount Laundry) is probably more appropriate now... :cyclops:
Yes, I actually do laundry.
I just don't post about it much because, well, I figure most men/husbands/fathers do it too...?!?!?!

:hilarious:;)

Ohhh the moat sounds really pretty! Did you go to high school in the 90s? That’s when my Phantom prom was, and I think a lot of schools did it around that time.

The Egyptian theme and execution does sound pretty horrid. The garden sounds pretty though!

Do they sell eggs at all?

Today is my dog, Jack's birthday. Today is my brother, Jack's birthday. There is a definite pattern here.

Happy birthday Jack (x2)!!!

Happy birthday Jack (x2)!!!

They always give them to friends and fam. They don’t have a huge chicken coup or anything.. I think he has maybe 3 or 4 chickens. They grow a lot of veggies too. I think my nephew has done a stand a few times over the years.. but not sure if he still does it.
Seriously, if your fam ever needs eggs, or tomatoes etc, just let me know!! Im sure my brother would give them.

Happy birthday to "Jack the Absconder"...!!!!!!! :joyfull:

Hey, wait... :cyclops: that makes him and myself seem pretty similar, even if his absconding doesn't have to do with NOT attending office luncheons...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious:

And, of course, happy birthday to your bro, Jack, as well...!!!!! :joyfull:

@dryerlintfan if you ever visit them, you must visit the Stonelick Bridge which isn’t too far away.. about halfwayish between Cincinnati and Mt Orab.

I have a FL friend who is really into haunted stuff.. she came up with a plan for us to visit the bridge and a nearby haunted farm.. So, we watched YouTube videos about how and where you should watch for the ‘hauntings’, left T with my parents, and drove out there around midnight. We were totally Blair Witch style filming the whole thing on her phone, narrating where we were and how creepy the roads leading to it felt...in between our bouts of laughter..

So, we get to the road for the bridge!! Narrating and all excited.. and Then- ROAD CLOSED signs everywhere. :hilarious::hilarious:😂😂🤣🤣

In our YouTube searches we didn’t even think to check if the bridge was actually OPEN.

Such a face palm moment!!!

Anyway, we will make our return someday.. maybe you can do it first and give a report. ;)

On my Facebook feed this morning there was a live stream of fundraiser event for Give Kids the World in which Bob Gurr was the speaker. So I decided to watch as I had my morning coffee. Since it was a fundraiser they had a rep from Give Kids the World speak about the organization and about a minute in I'm bawling like a baby. I knew the basics of what the organization did but never knew how it came to be or the background of the founder. It's an amazing story. And I love that this organization exists for kids and their families, however I wish it didn't (because of why the kids are there). Hopefully when I get to the Bob Gurr part it won't be as emotional!:)
Oldest dd got a thank you letter from them for the headbands.
