The free dining is only for the suites, but with my friend and her niece coming with us, we'd need a suite anyway. The AoA LM rooms aren't big enough for me to stay a week in with an adult and small child I've never lived with. LOL.

I will NOT be relaying this message to my kid. I already have to go to Kohls after picking her up from school today so we can buy her new tennies. She normally grows 1 to 1.5 sizes over winter, but this year she only grew .5. So the shoes I bought for the winter fell apart, which would normally be fine because I have new shoes for her in the next size up, but she's not ready for that yet. So off to buy new shoes we go!

Going to let her pick out her own shoes tonight (as long as they're tennies), and she's really excited about that. I'm sure because we're buying new size 9 shoes tonight, she'll be in size 10 by the end of the month :hilarious::hilarious:

Ahh.. ok. I was thinking it was for 2 people. Still crazy pricing either way. Definitely better off with Shades of Green!

Have fun shoe shopping!

Wow. Just tried to switch our Thanksgiving cruise to the Bliss leaving out of Miami.
All Aft Mini Suites and Aft Balconies are sold out.. thought I’d crompise and do a ‘large balcony’- NOPE. Also sold out. :(

I’d rather sail on the Escape above any of them, but unfortunately it’s leaving out of New York.

Apparently if I don’t decide quickly I may have no choice but to sail out of New Orleans.

Happy birthday to Mrs. Donaldtoo!!! I hope you spoiled her in the manner in which she deserves!!

Thank you!
I/we (meaning kiddos and SIL too) did as much as was reasonably possible, but, contrary to what others have suggested recently, I am indeed no "Daddy Warbucks"...!!!!! :hilarious: ;)
But, she lovingly appreciated it all...!!! :)
But, our 30th wedding anniversary is coming up this December...
She has DEFINITELY NOT been a material girl, at all, since I've ever known her.
But, she is a sweet lady that appreciates Disney, diamonds, and now cruises...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
I look forward to making it as special as possible!!!
No stress, because we are so comfortable with each other, but, I may go a bit "overboard-ish" with this one...!!!!! :hilarious: :inlove: :)

I mentioned in my PTR may have missed mentioning it here, but my friend and her neice decided to join us this year! My friend hasn't been since her son was five and he's twenty seven now. Both her and her husband are Disney obsessed (in fact her husband is the entire reason we even considered going to Disney in the first place). The neice is only seven months older than A, and she's never been. She's princess obsessed too, though, which is good in case this trip goes the same way last trip went 😂😂

Ha ha, that would be hilarious!!

The celebration sounds really neat, have you ever been able to attend one?
I haven't ever tried. It's CRAZY busy. Wall to wall people trying to get a glimpse or get close enough to shake the King's hand. I was saying to my in-laws that I was really surprised they still do that. I mean, the king really doesn't RULE anymore....he's more a nostalgic figurehead than someone who has actual power. But still...he's a beloved person in the public eye and there's a certain...I don't even know what to call it, but just like in England, even though the Royal family isn't really in charge, they are still a respected entity and thus also inspire envy in some, which can put them in danger. Several years ago, someone drove into the crowd in Apeldoorn. (back when we still had a queen and it was Queen's day, on April 30th) That's where one of the palaces is, though my understanding is that the royal family no longer owns it...it's a museum now and not a working palace, so I don't think they have ever actually lived there in modern times, but I could be wrong. But some guy tried to crash into the bus where the Royal family was riding through. He ran through barracades and killed several people and ended up crashing into a monument I think? He died a few days later. I remember watching stuff on TV when they went through his house. He lived in the same town where my DH's family grew up and I think he might have been a neighbor to one of DH's uncles...I am thinking the uncle was able to see the police when they entered the guy's house, but none of our family knew the guy as far as I know. But that's just one of the reasons I'm surprised they still visit a town every year, and they still shake hands with the "common folk", etc. You could probably look up videos of celebrations to see what it's like....I have NO desire to try to enter that kind of a crowd. I remember last year, they sent a reporter out and there were people out there to get a good spot at like 5 am....HOURS before the parade started. It's kind of like waiting in the standby line for FOP without being assured you'll even get to ride. No thank you!!!
Fun fact though, my "choir" director got to perform for the queen a couple of weeks ago. Or he got to direct a project group with a school or something, and the kids were chosen to perform for Queen Maxima. We had an evening off from rehearsal because he was preparing or actually performing that night. So, really, T knows you, and you "know" me, and I know the choir director who has met the queen, who is married to the king....so technically not even 7 degrees of seperation.

I need to just pin the following sentence, I say it so often..

In 2015 we chose a Room Only discount in lieu of free dining. I paid for the DDP myself, and STILL came out over $1000 less than the dining promotion.
Well, it also depends on how many people you have in a room. The free dining is for everyone in your room, so no, you won't save much with just 2 people. Especially if one of those people is under 10 and is on the kids plan. But, for us, the kids are now both over 10, so they get the adult dining plan, but are still considered kids on the room. So that's 4 adult dining plans....saves way more than one of the promotions that offers 2 free nights, or gives you 10% off a room only booking.

I let A pick out her own shoes. Show of hands, who's shocked at her choice right now??!! 😂😂

Literally the most gaudy shoes in the entire store.... AND they light up!!

Lol!!! Those are too funny, but so perfect!

Oh that’s so neat! One day I will catch up on all of the pre trip and trip reports.. but for now, I just can’t bring myself to read them!
I threw away the snail mail pin code.. but I haven’t been able to delete the email. I keep thinking “but..but...BUT 30%!!”
I’m so afraid that the trip report section will break my already wavering will. At the same time, I hate that I’m not caught up on everyone’s trips. I’m trying to muster up the inner strength. :hilarious:

Oh yeah, those type of crowds do not sound fun.
How monarchies still exist is beyond me. I would think that they would end in the next few generations, but maybe not..it appears that the countries who have them are satisfied with the system.

That’s really cool about your choir director!! And ha! I think I’m going to read this story to T! There’s a royal meeting somewhere in the mix... ;)

The time I saved that much was at the Polynesian in a theme park view room.. the discount was 30%, which was a couple of hundred dollars off per night, and we stayed for 9 nights, so that discount added up! I also didnt have any desire for park hoppers or water parks, so that made the savings of a Room Only + Paid DDP have an even greater margin from the Free Dining promotion. But yes, with 2 more people it would have definitely reduced the savings.

Hahaaa...!!!
Thank you so much, that is one awesome cake, and she loves Minnie too...!!!!! :joyfull:
But, I assure you, I didn't forget her dessert, I just forgot to take a pic...!
I think it was because we were so agog...!
It was a slice of cheesecake with raspberry sauce on the house...but, it was literally a wide slice that was about 4 inches tall!!!
I've never seen a "slice" of cheesecake that big in my life...!!!!! :hilarious:
We all had to help her finish it, and it was so dang-darn good...!!!!! :hungry:
Thanks again, Minnie...!!!!! :)
