I did not let my DS take his car down for his CP either. You'll be fine without a car unless you are assigned to the MK.
You can pretty well count on an hour commute there and an hour back to housing for the MK. Still it looks like they are going to poke a new road in by next year to the backend of the Magic Kingdom that will vastly add to the capacity of that road that CMs use which would certainly help that commute.

Grocery store, he tagged along with his roommate or others.
They are letting me take the Bravada. They always said that they were not going to let me take the Aurora. I need to be able to get to religious meetings off Disney property, their main reason for me having it, and I need to be able to get to doctor's appointments and such. We're thinking Mom would go with me, take the car down, help me get settled.

Quick question, and you would probably know the answer, do they have health housing down there? Doctor says that I need to live by myself if I go down there thanks to the asthma.

I have a very strong stomach. I get upset tummy but don't loose it. But with my DS those first 4 months and he wound up still being a #9 baby. One night I laid down with my upset tummy, morning sickness at night for me...
that moment that you realize uhoh and there wasn't time to move 10 feet to the bathroom. My robe was at the foot of the bed and I picked it up....marched to kitchen where DH was opened trash can flipped robe in. His unspoken response was to take the garbage out. :hungover: Wise man.
The benefit of having a sensitive stomach: you get very good at making it to the bathroom very quickly.

Ended up coming home thanks to the migraine. Couldn't even keep breakfast down. I was supposed to have a presentation in Spanish today, and I called the professor, and she's letting me do it another day. It won't affect my grade. i guess I must look pretty bad because my professor for my first class looked at me and said, "Are you okay?" And I told her I had a migraine and was going home. This professor, who is super strict about attendance, said, "Yes, go home. Be careful driving." I figure when I professor tells me to go home, I must look like I need to.

As far as I know the smallest amount of housing in an Apartment is 2 people, one bedroom. There maybe a empty bed in an apartment but they do get filled as they move the unhappy ones around after a mandatory trial period. They do have wellness buildings though and they are quieter while my DS was in anything but a quiet or wellness building, he had the time of his life down there doing the CP. You can look for a roommate prior to going down but you usually have to have the same report date. I would not bring up any health concerns until you are accepted and have a confirmed report date.

I went down with my DS, I needed a visual of where I was sending him. At report time they separate the parents from the recruits. All your stuff gets unloaded to a common area by the induction center at Vista Way. Reporting early in the morning would give you a little time with your Mom before they haul you off to Casting, that was the last I saw of my son for 3 months until my DD and I went down for her 16th birthday even though I stayed on property and had a mini solo vacation. That first week is very hectic for CPs with Traditions, specific assignments received for roles, training for those roles. It is also a bonding time for CPs and may events that first week to acclimate the CPs. Report day was the only day I step foot into the housing compound.

My DS and I got down there a few days early and enjoyed the parks, I had the vast majority of his stuff minus his Golf Clubs and a few suitcases shipped to Port Orleans and left them in storage there until it was report day. The closets are large but there is very little flat spots in rooms and you only get a few drawers of the one dresser and a night stand. There is a safe for each CP in the closet similar to the ones in the resorts.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on bringing it up until after I was accepted, but no way can I have a roommate. Too many issues with perfumes and such in the room. Not only that, but even pairing with another asthmatic doesn't work. My hair products could bother another asthmatic, or they could use a product that bothers me. Bottom line: I need to live by myself. If I lived in a dorm at school, I wouldn't have a roommate, so there I would need to not have a roommate as well. If they can't make that happen, I'll drop out of the program. That's how serious a concern it is. I also know that the buildings don't have elevators, so I'll have to request a first or second floor room. Steps are sometimes an issue.

My Aurora was a V8, as in 8 cylinder engine. I named it The Jackrabbit. It was also nicknamed The Old Man. How to become attached to your car: Name it.

My Bravada (which still needs a name) has a 6 cylinder, but is so heavy that the pickup is horrible. The Lacrosse is a 6 cylinder. So not like The Jackrabbit, but still pretty good pickup. I'm sure the Bravada will get a name once I get to know it a little bit better.

My Mustangs name was Sarah. She was sparkly golden bronze. She was pretty.

I'll ask my DS the next time I talk to him if anyone was ever on their own. Disney has so many more CPs now than when he was in the program that they are actually squishing 3 and 4 people in their large units. My guess is they are likely building more, they did prior when they pulled the International CPs out of the old Treehouses.

Though it is much tougher to get in, you might apply for a professional internship. You can rent an apartment and stay off property on your own. Those are tough positions to get though.

Oh what I would do to have that in my hand right now!

We last trip, last day bought six of these caramel lovelies with our left over snack credits to bring home. :hungry:

Those were the worst 2 CMs that morning that I had ever come across. Walked in shortly after opening they were sitting on the floor behind the counter to not be seen but I hear one. You could tell they were really ticked they were found and that they had to get up and wait on us. Beyond belligerent. Wonder how many mornings they spend hiding to start their days?

Got another seven inches of snow, time to go do something about that before the temps plummet and the strong blizzard winds kick in. Joy Joy :cold:
