My first car was a '71 Cutlass with a Rocket 350 (5.7 liter) V-8. Although, it only had the 2 bbl carburetor, it was still plenty quick enough.
My folks bought a brand new 4-door, '86 Olds Delta 88. That thing had a 3.8 liter V-6 in it, and it flat out flew off the line. Quite the surprise, especially at that time. Pop had to take it in for work at one point and the mechanic looked the motor up in the book. Turns out it was a rare high output motor...!!!
Folks gave it to us at one point and I drove it for about a year before I sold it.
Had a
LOT of fun takin' people out of lights (occasionally, and with just me in the car) who were drivin' what should have been much quicker cars...!
