My sister sent me a link to a travel site that had airfare to Honolulu from Amsterdam for €472. I was ready to book it for February but my sister feels she can't take the time off from work.:( She was tempted but in the end she decided against it. It probably was the right choice but a sisters trip to Hawaii would have been awesome.

It is going to be spotty sleep nite for me I guess.

On and off we have done free dining and paying for Dining Plan. For us it depends on our master plan for the trip. In 2016 dining at TS restaurants was a priority for my DS for our long trip and we took the free dining over a overall better deal for room only discount.. Our long trip in 2017 our priority was F&W and snacking as we were too full to do much of either in 2016. It was more of savings as we were trapped during Hurricane Irma and those dining credits during Hurricane Irma with severe limited dining choices would have been a waste. Blessed by accident.

We returned for Christmas season in 2017 without a dining plan and came out ahead as that trip was only a week and we powered the parks and did Christmas party, our goal was attractions over food and resort hopping to see Christmas as it had been many years since we did that. I love the dining plan when our trip goals are enjoying a lot of good food for that trip. Still our trips vary with planning and what we will give up to dine over accomplish. Realistically TS eats up a great deal of Park Time and commuting to Dining does also. Being a AP holder the 20% off many dining locations offset not having dining by far. I like that we mix it up trip to trip. Disney is so inconsistent in their offerings so being kinda flexible has worked for us.

Yeah, for us the dining plan works because it comes with the package and our trips are so long because we can only afford it once every several years. We can't afford to make even one trip a year with the flights over. So we do one trip, and it has to last several years, so we stay longer. It works for us. And if you are staying for 10 days, or 2 weeks, free dining makes a HUGE difference. Massive!! What really limited us on our last trip was just that DS is so picky, but we weren't sure what exactly he'd like and what he didn't, so we kept ordering things for him and then he didn't like them, so we had to go somewhere to get fries for him later. PLUS, he was only 8, so he was on the kids dining plan...otherwise we could have just ordered dessert for him in all the restaurants, but the kids one has a pre-fix dessert that comes with the meal. It was not ideal. I think the next time will be better. He just turned 10, so he'll have the regular dining plan next time, and now we know better where he will be able to eat and where we shouldn't waste a credit for him. It will work out.
We don't get room rates here ☹
The current deal is up to 4 nights free, depending on the length of your stay, etc. That's a room discount, isn't it? And it still comes with the 2 week tickets for the price of 1 week.
Between here and watching sewing videos from the other side of the pond I've started saying things such as jumper for sweater, going on holiday, pants for unmentionables, pint for beer bum for bottem
I get all the British stuff from literature. Harry Potter, Outlander, Jane Austen, etc...and one of my friends is an aspiring author and I beta read for her...she's English and lives in Ireland, so I get quite a bit of the British English from her books.

@Songbird76 the crossing to nowhere is in Breda. It is a new development but they have finished all construction so I think the crossing will just stay as it is.
Breda....that makes so much more sense. We have very bad experiences with transportation in Breda. Don't know what it is, but something always goes wrong there for us, whether it's trains, or buses or car. Everything to do with transportation there just sucks.

KLM voordeel weken? Or whatever it's called? They also have flights to Orlando for around 550. We don't have the time off to do a trip this year or I'd have used that , but they do this 2 times a year, I guess, so maybe we will be able to book for 2019, or 2020. I looked to see if they had any offers to Denver so I could visit my brother, but they don't.

I usually take the train to and from Breda but my sister lives in the city center so I can walk everywhere including the train station.

@Songbird76 I had a quick look on the site that had the cheap tickets to Hawaii. They also have a flight to Denver for € 467 but that's in February. The site is Schipholtickets.com if you want to have a look yourself.
Aw, too bad February doesn't work for us, because that is an AMAZING price! Thank you for looking! I'll have to keep an eye on it!

That's really a bummer. We don't pay that much less to go to Honolulu from Baltimore. Sweet deal.

Although you could go by yourself...Hawaii isn't hard to navigate...and there's Aulani :D

We're playing house; the baby doll is my daughter, my daughter is mommy, and I am supposed to be daddy.

"What should I be doing?"

"You're coming home from work, Daddy! You're going to take the baby"

"What are you going to do when I take the baby?"

"I'm going to go potty without the baby coming with me!! I'm going to go potty all alone!! Yeah! That's what mommies do when daddies are home!"

She's on to me :hilarious::hilarious:

While he does know how to design 3D using a program and can print those out, this Stitch was one someone else came up with and he just basically pressed print. He printed a Mickey yesterday.

This kinda made me think of older science shows on TV from years ago, when they'd talk about so many amazing things coming in the future. Even if your son can't design 3D, that will be coming. I'm just fascinated to learn that kids are being taught how to print out these 3D creations now. I certainly don't have a clue about how to use any of this technology.

Reminds me a little of how EPCOT attractions (Spaceship Earth for example) used to tell us about the wonderful world of tomorrow, and we could dream about it. Years later, the future is right now. :geek:

So the Cruz is a no go. Not enough pick up for my taste, plus after having an SUV and a large sedan before that, it just feels small. I like the Malibu. I want to go drive the Camry again, though, which I will be doing on Saturday. Along with the Sonata.

I told the sales guy that every time I go to Test Track's showroom I head for the Malibu, so I had a feeling that would be the winner. He then told me he's been to Disney about a dozen times. I bit my tongue before being like "A dozen?"

Dh brings lunch from home everyday. Saves money for sure. We have also cut down on our dining out. What is the point of spending about $150 on groceries or more during the week and then spending between $50 and $100 on a restaurant for 6 of us for one meal. I try and push pizza for 1 night now and try to avoid restaurants. I do get out voted often enough though.

Yah, it's even harder when you have a family of 6, to go out to eat.

Hubs and I go out every Friday night (we have for many years),to our local family-style restaurant (and it's very reasonably priced). After working all week, it's a nice treat we do for ourselves, and we really don't spend much money on other entertainment. I know plenty of people who go out for drinks after work a few nights a week, or they spend a lot of money on sports tickets, concerts, etc. Our own social entertainment budget is frugal.

It was Prednisone that did it.
That is one of the drugs I was taking. But, I only took it for about a week.

Prednisone is good for a number of ailments, but with longer-term usage, it's been known to increase your chances of getting cataracts. However, if you only took it for a week, that shouldn't have been a factor in your eye's condition.

Anyway, it's good that you're having the surgery to correct this condition.
