I usually bring coffee from home in my 30oz Yeti cup. But I'm also a sucker for venti nonfat chai from Starbucks. Back before I really looked at how much I was spending on food and drink at work, I used to get one every day!! But then I noticed that coffee and lunch at work every day was costing more than our overall food budget at home for the month :jawdrop::jawdrop:
Dh brings lunch from home everyday. Saves money for sure. We have also cut down on our dining out. What is the point of spending about $150 on groceries or more during the week and then spending between $50 and $100 on a restaurant for 6 of us for one meal. I try and push pizza for 1 night now and try to avoid restaurants. I do get out voted often enough though.

Same thing happened to my step dad. He had a small one and then it quickly became very large. They attributed it to a medication he was on.
Very interesting. I have been on a lot of different medications since my problem with my hip and leg started in October. Everything from controlled drug pain killers to muscle relaxers and a barrel of Aleve. Might be something to that.

My husband is a man of few words. He's been walking around for days with a loose back tooth in his mouth. That's news to me. Not a word. First I heard of it he wagon the phone this morning making a dental appointment. Luckily he got in today and they pulled the tooth. The man is 71 years old. I doubt he will miss one back tooth in the grand scheme of things. Doctor/dentist is a prince. He charged my husband $87 to pull the tooth. My husband had scrambled eggs for lunch.
Scrambled eggs (with ketchup) are good anytime. :hungry:

Between my husband, and myself, we got an additional $79.30 on our Social Security Deposit this morning. I can use the extra money to pay off some unexpected bills I recently acquired. It's still good that my husband can still work, and do it from home. Social Security money alone won't do it for us at this time in our lives. I guess we should have planned better years ago. When did it get so costly to live?

Indeed.
Other than things like reported reliability and initial attractiveness, there are so many other factors involved. Things like the adjustability of the seat and steering wheel, the feel of the brake pedal, gas pedal, or steering. Sight lines, blind spots, etc. So different for so many people. Test drive, indeed. I've test-driven a few cars over the years that I was excited about...until I test drove them.
DWifey has a 2010 Camry and loves it, and it has been one of the most reliable vehicles we've ever owned.
I, on the other hand, am not a fan of the "touchiness" of the gas and brake pedals, and the limited adjustability of the steering wheel.
My general rule these days tends to be THH...Toyota, Honda, Hyundai.
Ironically, the other 2 cars in our driveway right now are both Chevys.
As I think I've posted before, I'm currently driving an '01 Malibu, and youngest DD is driving a '10 Traverse. The Malibu was given to my pop a coupla' years ago 'cause a guy owed him a favor. He didn't need it, so in turn, gave it to us. It timed out with the demise of our second awesome Hyundai since '88. Also, I don't turn down free cars...!!!!! :joyfull:
Other than a fuel pump goin' out last year (hey, it's a 17-year-old car :cyclops:), it's been plenty reliable, so far.
I reminded youngest DD about THH before she bought the Traverse with her own money.
But, it was just too pretty and drove too well.
Injector problems to the tune 3 of them so far. Not cheap. She says she will be replacing it soon.
In her defense, she did her research, and said she saw no major concerns. She even has a friend that has one just like hers and she has had no major problems. Lemons exist everywhere. But, from our past experience, and others we know, a lot less of them seem to exist in THH Land...
My DD just hit 200,000 miles on my old Toyota Matrix. It is a very good little car. 😁

So, funny story.... When I was stationed at fort Bragg they had run out of housing on post so they put me up in this apartment right outside the gate. It was glorious, because I had a garden tub, and a couple spare rooms for my friends to stay in when they came to visit.

But I had a lot of trouble with the clothes dryer. It worked okay when I first got in, but grew less and less effective. Soon, I was having to dry a load of laundry six or seven hours before it would actually get dry. So I finally broke down and called maintenance who said they could come check it out the next day while I was at work.

So I get home from work, and on top of the dryer is a cake if dryer lint that was, I kid you not, at least six inches thick, and a note from the maintenance guy that said "you're lucky the building didn't catch fire. Please empty the dryer lint after every three loads" :hilarious::hilarious: I had only ever done laundry at the laundromat before so I had no idea there even was a dryer lint trap :banghead::banghead:
We did a 19 day megatrip of WDW, Uni and Sea World one year and stayed at one of the All-Stars. I did laundry there and the wash was fine but the two dryers I used didn't do well. I thought that odd both weren't drying and pulled the lint trap out of the first one. :depressed::depressed: (I still gag at thinking about it.) Sooo gross I didn't try the second one. I called Mousekeeping and they gave me back all my money and proceeded to clean the traps. The traps looked like they never had been cleaned ever. :grumpy:

:depressed::depressed::depressed: At least at a laundromat they clean the machines...
