Lush was one of the companies my oldest dd wanted some stuff from for Christmas. I had not heard of it prior to seeing her list, and then when I saw what it was I was thinking, "Couldn't I just get Basin?" Basin was actually cheaper. She uses some shower scrubs from them. I prefer Basin smells. Just my opinion.;)
I use the shampoo and conditioning bars as well. They smell awesome,:inlove: and I am always amazed as to how long they actually last.:)

I looked at the Lush store at the Mall of America before Christmas and the products looks okay but many of the bath bombs had a lot of glitter. Perhaps those were the seasonal items. But I didn't like the idea of getting glitter all over me while I was in the bath. I have a lot of Basin bombs right now, but I might look at Lush again if I run out.

I was very happy too with how long the shampoo bar lasted me. I have another one that I plan on using soon. Then I might get some more in March.

The bars are also great when you are traveling as they don't leak and can easily be brought in carry on.
I have never seen a Basin in my part of the wold but there are a lot of Lush stores. I do like them but they are very expensive so I only buy their shampoo bars when I go on a longer trip.

I think you will have to take a little trip to Disney Springs or the Grand Floridian and get yourself some Basin products on your WDW trip.

Would it be bad if I contacted the Grenfell Tower support team to see if they sound help with getting my claim resolved? I am listed as a victim of the fire (the council determined that, I didn't sign up for it) and I keep getting news letters saying they are there to help etc. So far I haven't accepted any help or support as I feel I should take care of myself and not be a drain on resources but I am so frustrated with this situation. It is hard enough living right next to that carcass of a building, being reminded every day of what happened, without getting the run around from everyone.

I think if you have a legitimate claim (sounds like you probably do) about something that happened because of the Tower then it is okay to put in for a claim support.

My husband is a man of few words. He's been walking around for days with a loose back tooth in his mouth. That's news to me. Not a word. First I heard of it he wagon the phone this morning making a dental appointment. Luckily he got in today and they pulled the tooth. The man is 71 years old. I doubt he will miss one back tooth in the grand scheme of things. Doctor/dentist is a prince. He charged my husband $87 to pull the tooth. My husband had scrambled eggs for lunch.
I kind of got in trouble for that yesterday. I went to the VA eye clinic to have my vision tested. More or less one year check-up, but, I had noticed that things seemed a little blurry. Looked in my right eye and told me that the cataract in that eye has grown and now is in my field of vision.

Some of you that have been here awhile might remember that I had my left eye done about two to three years ago. So to me it wasn't a big deal. For all of you that think that at the VA you wait in line forever for medical care, let me give you a time line. I called and made an appointment about two weeks ago. I didn't feel that there was any rush so two weeks was fine. So I go in Monday to get my eye exam and my surgery is scheduled for Thursday morning. That seems quick to me.

Anyway, I posted on Facebook that I was going to have cataract surgery and made it into a mildly comical rant on aging. About an hour later I get a text from my Daughter asking... "how come the only way I ever know that you are having some medical situation, I have to read it on Facebook?" What could I say, I wasn't taking it all that seriously. The only thing traumatic about that is that I have to be at the Hospital at 6am and it is 23 miles away. It's worse for my other daughter that has to get up at 4 to get here, pick me up and take me to Durham. I felt bad, that she thought I was leaving her out of the loop, but, more upset because others knew about it before she did. I was going to talk to her about it later, but, she was at work and I thought I should wait. It wasn't like I was having a heart attack or anything. Just can't make people happy, but, I love the girl and know she just cares about my health. So I'm not going to complain.

Good luck with the surgery. It is great how easy cataract surgery is nowadays. :)

It sure is. My MIL had to wear coke bottle lenses to see anything after cataract surgery. It isn't even the nightmare that one can imagine. I felt nothing except pressure on my eye. (not the kind the doctors like to use instead of extreme pain, it really didn't hurt at all.) I was surprised at how quickly this one came on. I knew the cataract was there for years, but, until just a month or so ago, I hadn't noticed any problem with my sight in that eye. Then all of a sudden it was enough for me to know it wasn't just my imagination or dirty glasses. I still thought it was just that my eyes had changed and that I needed new prescription lenses for my glasses. Turns out I needed a completely new lens for my eye. Who knew?

I rarely eat out or even get take aways, just when I am on holidays or a special occasion. All my meals are home made, it saves a lot of money and calories.
I also love going to Starbucks but rarely do because of the cost.
Starbucks is my achilles heel. I have to control that otherwise I'd be there every morning. I have one of those Starbucks cards. I reload it once a month. Once it's gone, it's gone. I do a pretty good job of controlling it. Usually, I don't go unless I'm out of breakfast food or I'm starting with a migraine, which has improved since going on my new meds. Sometimes, those chai tea lattes plus two Excedrin migraine are the only thing that will make my migraines go away. Don't ask me why.

One month I had to refill early because I had a migraine and was desperate, but lately I've been refilling less often than once per month, which is even better.

My cataract surgery was supposed to be a breeze. I felt no pain. However, during the procedure there was a period of wet and cold in my eye. I am convinced that it probably shocked me, because I was not expecting that. Most everything else went as I expected. What I didn't expect was needing medical clearance before the procedure. Also. since my 2nd eye has been delayed, I now need another dilated eye exam. I have been told that Medicare requires that, or I guess they withhold payment. So for me the buracratric red tape has been a pain. More pain than the procedure.

Interesting. One of my family members when a migraine strikes only relief is Excedrin and Coke. Wonder if it is that combo of Excedrin and caffeine? Aspirin nor Advil helped, Tylenol always seemed to make the Migraines worse but were the Doc's first suggestion.

Starbucks for me had been rare. Over the last year+ it has become my daily treat. I try not to think about the weekly cost even though it is a simple coffee not a $6 specialty drink, about $2.50. This too shall pass but for now it is my special thing from me to myself. Oddly I've had one Starbucks coffee in Disney since they moved into the parks. Go Figure!

For all the interwebs research nothing beats a test drive. What might look great online might be a right dog to drive. Hope you are able to figure out what is right for you.🚗

Indeed.
Other than things like reported reliability and initial attractiveness, there are so many other factors involved. Things like the adjustability of the seat and steering wheel, the feel of the brake pedal, gas pedal, or steering. Sight lines, blind spots, etc. So different for so many people. Test drive, indeed. I've test-driven a few cars over the years that I was excited about...until I test drove them.
DWifey has a 2010 Camry and loves it, and it has been one of the most reliable vehicles we've ever owned.
I, on the other hand, am not a fan of the "touchiness" of the gas and brake pedals, and the limited adjustability of the steering wheel.
My general rule these days tends to be THH...Toyota, Honda, Hyundai.
Ironically, the other 2 cars in our driveway right now are both Chevys.
As I think I've posted before, I'm currently driving an '01 Malibu, and youngest DD is driving a '10 Traverse. The Malibu was given to my pop a coupla' years ago 'cause a guy owed him a favor. He didn't need it, so in turn, gave it to us. It timed out with the demise of our second awesome Hyundai since '88. Also, I don't turn down free cars...!!!!! :joyfull:
Other than a fuel pump goin' out last year (hey, it's a 17-year-old car :cyclops:), it's been plenty reliable, so far.
I reminded youngest DD about THH before she bought the Traverse with her own money.
But, it was just too pretty and drove too well.
Injector problems to the tune 3 of them so far. Not cheap. She says she will be replacing it soon.
In her defense, she did her research, and said she saw no major concerns. She even has a friend that has one just like hers and she has had no major problems. Lemons exist everywhere. But, from our past experience, and others we know, a lot less of them seem to exist in THH Land...

Spent the day at my Mom's and just returned. My niece flew in to see my Mom for 2 days and flies out Thursday morning so we had a day together and the bonus checked Mom off the to see list for the week. The 2 bird thing.

This is the end of my nieces college holiday and she will have had 5 days total at home after her Vietnam and neighboring countries trip. They went into the chilling tunnels of Cambodia 30 feet underground and was less than amused. Forget where she said a trip is being planned for next but I looked at her and said I wasn't jealous but her retort was "I told my Mom I'm not going."

I considered getting a shampoo bar.... but Basin put in all caps KEEP DRY BETWEEN WASHES!!!!! and that scared me off a bit. We have a shelf for soap, but I have no idea if a bar of soap would stay dry on it, LOL. We don't use soap right now ... just body wash.

I'll let you know!

and I'm loving your new member name. lol lol lol nod to Tuvalu. I'll never get over being stunned that she did that and laughing at her for that stunt!

I did! I didn't realize that disney bounding was a "thing" when I made my name... like,... I thought it was just saying "hey I'm going to Disney!!". I learned from these boards though that there's a Disney bounding movement, and there's a LOT of animosity around it. Add in the out of date year, and it just seemed better to change it.

When I made it, I didn't think I'd be sticking around the forums after our trip. Or that I might plan another trip. I was wrong on both counts :inlove:

And we are happy you stuck around! :inlove: Now if we can just relocate @betty rose

Agree with this, my mom was in love with some cars. But after testing them, she found some of them to be too low, others having horrible peripehial and back visibility, others where the front area was way too high.

Very recommended to test before you buy.

Yes. At least here in Illinois. Because my Mom was required to wait 6 months between her two cataract surgeries because they wanted to make sure the first eye took correctly as she also has Mac they too required her to have a second dilated exam to look into the eye to verify that nothing else had changed over the months. She also had to get a second clearance from her primary Doc. I get it for this procedure and also her age. Still beyond the bureaucratic, butt covering hoops it does lend some understanding of why healthcare is so very expensive.
