They salted the roads here overnight, and the salt trucks were out en force this morning during commute hours. But when the sleet and snow comes down during the commute, there's not much they can really do. We didn't go above 40 mph the whole way in, and my commute took double the time it usually does, but there were no accidents and we all presumably got in safely. The snow is supposed to stop just after lunch, so hopefully they'll have the roads all taken care of by the time we go home!

It's just really thin sheets of ice. So it's not black, but you can see the road through it and it looks black because of the asphalt. It looks wet, like a puddle, and happens a lot when the temps are hovering around freezing (not too much below or above that). When it gets really cold, usually the ice gets thicker so you can see it better.

It is especially common on bridges and overpasses though.

Exactly.

A couple hours later there was an ice storm and that ice you could see it was more textured, cloudy and beveled. Then an hour later came the snow and hid all the ice beneath. :cautious:

I can't find pork butt either.:(
How does your husband shop for meat?

Maybe look for a different name. I've found it labeled multiple ways. Pork butt is actually front shoulder area not rear.

pork shoulder = pork shoulder butt = pork blade shoulder
Meat from this section is relatively fatty, which makes for juicy, tender, and flavorful roasts as well as clogged arteries.
