Sympathy like. I would be happy to ship our snow to you. Cloudy and snowing here right now. Considering the temperatures won't be above freezing for close to 2 weeks, I will probably not see any green grass for a while, as this white stuff will probably not melt.:(

Sympathy like.
It only got down to 23 here overnight, but, there was just enough moisture that we actually had to get our ice scrapers out of our trunks for a coupla' minutes... :cyclops:  ;)

Ha!!!

I love palm trees too and also hate snow.
Years ago, my wife and both of my daughters were away at college, I was left home to take care of our business, plus my full time job and try to figure out how I was going to pay for all that college expense. I remember those winter storms rushing in. I'd jump in my Toyota Pickup and head for work all the while day dreaming about not making the turn into the streets where my responsibilities were located and just drive straight south until my pickup rammed into a palm tree. It took all my energy to turn the stearing wheel and stop.

Just now, I looked out my closed window blinds and everything is white. Not a lot, maybe a half and inch, but, enough to make me look for that pickup again. The forecasts shows no break in the freezing temperatures until at least Sunday. That means that it will remain unless the ground is still warm enough to melt it, but, I don't think that will be happening.

By the way, in case people are really drawn in by the folks that say... this never happened before. I remember driving from Vermont to Myrtle Beach at the end of February, 1980 and there being a minimum of 4 inches of snow on the ground all the way from Washington, DC (at least) through the State of Georgia. What a mess and that was 37 years ago.

I'm jealous. I first had glasses when I was 8 years old. The catch was I was forced to go to different place for glasses. I went to Stein optical for my first pair, but there was quality control problems with the pair. My parents saw they looked like they were broken before I was going to put them on in the store:jawdrop:o_O:facepalm:. My parents were was not happy at the eye glass place with them getting their money back with me going to a different place with better quality control.

When I was your daughter's age at 11 years old, my vision was getting worse each year. It got so bad that when I was 13 and a half years old, my eye doctor prescribed me a special type of an eye drop that stabilizes your vision.

The down side was that type of an eye drop actually caused my eyes be very light sensitive, special pair of glasses to read, and make eye muscles very weak as side affect. I had that prescription up to when I was 17 and half years old. That special eye drop also prevented me from learning to swim and caused me to skip steps going down once in a while. The good news was the special drops did do its job for stabilizing my vision and prevented the possibility of me getting legally blind.

What happened to me was my vision was almost a 6 for prescription when I was 13 and a half and my vision wasn't stabilized yet. The eye doctor had the fear the vision I would've been in the 7 or 8 range for prescription glasses in a years time in booth eyes at the time.
Sympathy like. At late 40 something, I am only starting to need reading glasses. Guess I am lucky.

I think personality comes into play. We have a friend who is well over six foot tall and he's broad and muscular. He can sleep in a full with his wife comfortably because they like to snuggle. They sleep all wrapped up in each other.

My husband and I have a California King because neither one of us likes other people touching us when we sleep. And because we usually have a least one dog crawl in with us. We could never comfortably sleep in a full.

Hahaaa...!
Yep, one dog usually does same here, but, if they both eventually do, I can see us movin' up to the king...!!! :hilarious: ;) :)

Wasn’t that the year Time magazine had a cover saying we were headed to another ice age. We had a subscription at that time, and as a kid that article scared the bejeezus out of me.

It might be because that is the time that I associate with things changing weather wise. I know that no southern state at the time had any equipment to remove snow because it had been decades since they had any snow.

There was quite a storm today in the Netherlands making it unsafe to drive so we changed our plans and stayed in Breda where my sister lives. We went to an Escape Room with my 13 year old nephew to do one of the scenarios. Boy was that hard! We had 48 minutes to get out and didn't make it. We did have a lot of fun and would like to go back to try another one. After the Escape Room we took the little ones Disco Bowling. Clearly I was being punished for something in a past life because this was torture. Loud music and flashing lights for an hour while the 13 year old sulked because he wasn't winning.:banghead:
I was really happy once we could leave and vowed never to return for Disco Bowling.

Well an interesting day. My DD loves escape rooms but they are pricey here $35-40 for an hour so it is infrequent. Her BFF keeps trying to get her to go more often but that one still lives at home so it easier to spend those extra dollars on fun. When my kids were small we did Disco Bowling a few times, I hate, even my DD hated, neither of us do well with LOUD music. And 13 year old...let the fun begin. :banghead: It is said girls are rough at that age, me I found it more to be the boys.
