Ya know, now that I'm looking at buying a car, I think the most useful thing I learned in college was how to calculate the payments on an annuity thanks to those stupid finance classes.

In other news, this storm has stirred up quite a migraine for me...but I'm still looking at cars because I seem to be nothing if not single minded.
I hope you get to sleep in a bit seeing you're working from home.

It is so funny that you went to Specsavers as I went two days ago as I noticed that it was becoming harder to read small letters. I also need glasses but just for reading, I bought 2 pair and can pick them up next Saturday.
And I don't need them for reading...yet. Mine are for all day. Did you do the 2 halen 1 betalen deal? That's what I did, though it still cost me 200 Euros...but I wish I could get them before the 17th! I'm really overly excited about getting glasses. My husband was teasing me...he thought I wasn't going to get checked because I didn't want glasses. I was like, no I really DO want glasses, but I didn't want to have to go through the doctor to get them!
Anyway, you'll have to show us yours when you get them.

Well an interesting day. My DD loves escape rooms but they are pricey here $35-40 for an hour so it is infrequent. Her BFF keeps trying to get her to go more often but that one still lives at home so it easier to spend those extra dollars on fun. When my kids were small we did Disco Bowling a few times, I hate, even my DD hated, neither of us do well with LOUD music. And 13 year old...let the fun begin. :banghead: It is said girls are rough at that age, me I found it more to be the boys.
We LOVE escape rooms. But is that price for the room or per person? Ours are MUCH more expensive, but if you have more people, it's cheaper. I think the cheapest one we've done was still 80 euros for the room.

There was quite a storm today in the Netherlands making it unsafe to drive so we changed our plans and stayed in Breda where my sister lives. We went to an Escape Room with my 13 year old nephew to do one of the scenarios. Boy was that hard! We had 48 minutes to get out and didn't make it. We did have a lot of fun and would like to go back to try another one. After the Escape Room we took the little ones Disco Bowling. Clearly I was being punished for something in a past life because this was torture. Loud music and flashing lights for an hour while the 13 year old sulked because he wasn't winning.:banghead:
I was really happy once we could leave and vowed never to return for Disco Bowling.
What escape room did you do? We did one in...Eindhoven I think? That was an Indiana Jones thing, we did an Egyptian thing with the kids, and a Harry Potter one...the only one we didn't make was the Indiana Jones one. It was just my Husband and I and they recommend parties of 6. We were more than halfway, but we found something way too soon and it threw us off.

@Mr Ferret 88 , how are you doing? Are you still safe? They closed the flood gates here yesterday as a precaution. It was WINDY. I woke up thinking there was a very clumsy burgler in my yard because I could hear stuff moving, like the trash cans. But it was a trash day yesterday and when we got back from the eye appointments, all the trash cans on the street were blown over. It did rain a lot, but we are almost on the German border, so far from the areas that would have flooded. I don't know how they fared on the coast, but the fact that they closed the flood gates says something. I hope you are staying dry and your house is undamaged! And that you have power!

The technician claims its very normal to people who never ***** glases before.. and even more accentuated because of my deafness (My eyesight sensitivity is way more pronounced, I see things people usually miss in their peripheral view. As most glasses focus the fix in the center of the glass. And that is what is making me dizzy)..Thats what she says, going to see my doctor in a week or so.
First of all, what naughty word did you write before glasses?:joyfull:
Second, I am sorry your glasses are giving you problems. I was told when ordering mine it can take a week or so to get used to wearing them.

Wow, our escape room was $102, so much more expensive. Worth it as a special treat but not something I would do on a regular basis.
The 13 year old has actually been very good most of the trip, he has a sense of humor and will go along with a joke or being teased a bit. Yesterday at bowling was the first time when I saw him sulking etc. I thought it was kinda funny because the same thing happened last time we took him bowling when he was 5.:joyfull:
The escape room we did cost $125 last year. It was fun, but we haven't thought about doing another one because of the cost. :eek:

Oh joy school is closed:rolleyes::cautious::brb::banghead:
Sympathy like. We got a tiny dusting, and they got an inch by dh's office. It wasn't supposed to even snow at all. They're calling for horrendous winds and very low temps tomorrow. Littlest dd has a cheer competition down in MD tomorrow outside DC. Was just going to drive down in the morning, but we need to be there for 7am. With the bad weather and super cold wind chills, I decided to get a hotel room. I thought they would be crazy expensive, but managed to find a nice one for under $100 including tax.
