It is so funny that you went to Specsavers as I went two days ago as I noticed that it was becoming harder to read small letters. I also need glasses but just for reading, I bought 2 pair and can pick them up next Saturday.
Having a similar issue here, but mostly not reading, just that sometimes I see "ghosting" in certain colors.

Got my glasses 2 days ago but they get me sooo dizzy and give me a headache. Went today to check if they were the correct number. Technician says yes. So going to force myself to wear them for 1 week (since I need to "get used to" since I never used glasses before). If things keep going this bad, going to go to my doctor :/

I know you like this, but I feel bad for the small business owners who will lose a lot of money due to weather like this.

Of course I feel bad for the small businesses that lose money.

There are also other small businesses that are pulling in gold this week, in anticipation of the storm--small independent hardware stores, mom and pop corner grocery stores, independent gas station owners/operators, independent auto service (and sales) shops, independent pharmacies, private snowplow drivers (BIG BIG MONEY for those men), small, independent restaurants, privately-owned coffee shops, independent taxi drivers, etc.

So we took DD to the eye doctor today...she's had yearly checks since she was like..5? Every year they say it's not too bad, but by next year she'll probably need glasses. Now that she's 11, she doesn't have to go to the hospital to get them checked, she could go to any place to get checked, so we made an appointment at Specsavers. They checked her eyes and she's still just got a tiny issue, but her sight is still fine and she doesn't need glasses.
I'm jealous. I first had glasses when I was 8 years old. The catch was I was forced to go to different place for glasses. I went to Stein optical for my first pair, but there was quality control problems with the pair. My parents saw they looked like they were broken before I was going to put them on in the store:jawdrop:o_O:facepalm:. My parents were was not happy at the eye glass place with them getting their money back with me going to a different place with better quality control.

When I was your daughter's age at 11 years old, my vision was getting worse each year. It got so bad that when I was 13 and a half years old, my eye doctor prescribed me a special type of an eye drop that stabilizes your vision.

The down side was that type of an eye drop actually caused my eyes be very light sensitive, special pair of glasses to read, and make eye muscles very weak as side affect. I had that prescription up to when I was 17 and half years old. That special eye drop also prevented me from learning to swim and caused me to skip steps going down once in a while. The good news was the special drops did do its job for stabilizing my vision and prevented the possibility of me getting legally blind.

What happened to me was my vision was almost a 6 for prescription when I was 13 and a half and my vision wasn't stabilized yet. The eye doctor had the fear the vision I would've been in the 7 or 8 range for prescription glasses in a years time in booth eyes at the time.

Sounds like the lab over-corrected. I hope you see your own doctor. Eyeglasses should never make you feel dizzy or give you headaches--something isn't right here.

Glad you like it. I assume you must have a large room to fit something that big. (We have a tiny room.)

Our bedroom is large enough for a king (as long as we didn't purchase a coupla' crazy oversized nightstands), but, we've only ever had a queen.
I've never been taller than 5'-10", nor DWifey taller than 5'-5". So far, a queen has always been fine for us. :)
