Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Sympathy like. One of my friend's kids threw her dress shoes out the window on the Long Island Expressway on the way out to a family function almost at the end of the Island on a Saturday morning in summer. Kids and pets..........

Years ago my DS put his stinky feet up on the counsel between the two front seats, shoeless. He was aiming for obnoxiously funny. I pulled his socks off as we drove through the forest preserve divide and tossed them out the window. He was beyond appalled and in disbelief. We still laugh at that. Me more than him.:cyclops:
Teachable moment not forgotten. :D

Thank you very much for asking, that is so nice of you. Kind of makes me feel bad about picking on you for your strange preference in weather. I will get over that though as long as all the stays in your area! Yes, it is considerably better. Between the high powered pain killers, which I am about to run out of and the exercises that I have to do twice a day there has been a marked improvement in the duration of the pain. Before it was there all day and all I had to do is take about two steps to activate it, however, now it is much less of a continuous problem. It will get bad if I spend too much time either walking or standing, but, it does take much longer for the bad stuff to kick in and I am optimistic that it will eventually fade away, it is however taking it's sweet time to move along.:)

Excellent news! I hesitated to ask, because many medical conditions take a long time to resolve themselves. Really glad that you're doing better.

And eventually, you'll come to your senses, and start wishing for a white Christmas, just like I am!! :p

I'm working at it but it doesn't ever seem to be enough, maybe too much lost? Between Disney, House and Christmas even if I sleep it is overdrive during the daytime. I feel like I could sleep 24/7 for a week.

And I woke up at 2:30 this morning--for absolutely no reason. Thank goodness that doesn't happen often. I usually sleep in until 4 or 4:30. I was robbed of a few hours of my beauty sleep last night. (Then again, even when I sleep the full night, beauty doesn't automatically follow that . .. :p )

I've stayed at the Hilton on Hotel Blvd. There are pro's and cons. The rooms are larger and beds etc better. It isn't Disney Transportation though. There are $30 a night resort fees and if you drive parking per night. We don't rent a car or drive. That resort is part of the direct bridge to Disney Springs so You can take Disney transport with a walk equivalent to bus stops in Disney owned resorts. You don't get DME bus service, my limo cost last time $110 for 3 people but did allow a grocery store visit for 30 minutes. Honestly the last several trips we used Lyft and Uber so many time, under $10 to avoid Disney's transportation in the To The Parks it is almost a wash. I really like the Hilton though. A massive hotel with so many amenities that most Disney resorts lack. Toss up. But at $130 a night hard to pass up.

Haven't stayed there in years, but I did really like it, and the rates were very good. The reason I stopped going there was due to the private bus that picked up at all the hotels on Hotel Blvd. (slow . . .), and it didn't run that often to and from the parks. At the time, it dropped people off in the middle of a park's parking lot, which wasn't bad, but with no cover from the sun in hotter months, I didn't want to wait long for a return bus.

And back when it was just Downtown Disney, I'd sometimes get a bus to there (from one of the parks) in the late afternoon to return to the hotel (I'd walk from the stop across the street to Hotel Blvd.), but I think they instituted a new system some years back where they stopped those direct routes to DD from the parks. Guess everything has probably changed now, though.

In the past 15 years or so, I've preferred on-site hotels, as I like to take a break in the middle of the day and the WDW transportation is usually fine for me. Haven't rented a car down there in many years and I don't ever plan to again, either. The traffic, etc., is just as bad as any major city--no thanks.

13 years ago today, my now husband, took me to the ballet to see the Nutcracker and upon returning home I saw a vase of roses and a card on my counter. I read the card and it said, "will you marry me". :inlove: Isn't he lucky I said yes?!:joyfull: Later I asked him why he didn't get down on one knee and he told me it is because I read the card too fast!:happy:

What a beautiful proposal that was. He gets special points for the plan he came up with for you. :inlove:
