Just wondering what you would call someone who works at the fish counter in your local market/shop. May be a regional thing.

Well, I guess that's the thing--maybe in certain places they use that term. In my supermarket, there's a guy behind the fish counter, but I always thought of him as "the guy behind the fish counter". (This must show my lack of proper upbringing . .. :hilarious: )

Thank you--never heard of that expression before. And the fish I picked out for Figgy were not imitation--they were all the fish as labelled, just either frozen or canned.
Properly bought fish should have nothing on it, have a slight ocean scent not a fishy smell, be firm, have bright clear eyes and properly wrapped by a monger and cooked within 24 hours.
